The short rib shawarma was amazing; usually short rib can be overpowering but it was evenly flavored along with the other ingredients in the wrap. The fries that came with it were nice and crispy. The challah french toast was soft and memorable as well, with pistachio honey, fresh fruits, and cream. It was a bit on the heavier and sweeter side but still delectable. Highly recommended for brunch.
Easily could be 5 stars - excellent food and service was fast. Tasty and imaginative. Got the “fried rice” with chorizo, short rib sandwich and the umami miso baba ganoush. Slight shortcomings knock off a star though I would still highly recommend! Miso is very salty so it made the baba ganoush saltier than expected. Beer selection isn’t very impressive and they were out of one of the better ones so had to settle for bland Hofbrau Munchen which didn’t impress. Short rib was tasty but slightly dry and stringy. Overall I would come back again, maybe it was an off day.
We thought every dish was superb, and my boyfriend is French and a big lover of Lebanese/Mediterranean food. The dips were amazing and we got the chicken entree. Will be going back.
My first time at Boutros, I sat at the chef's counter for dinner and loved everything about it. The food was delicious and the experience of watching the cooks is welcome (when they make a great dish and also when they make evident mistakes).Since then I've been back for brunch and dinner and loved it every time. The shakshuka was delicious, the Summer hummus with veggies was so refreshing... I just want to try everything every time.
Great ambiance but the food is just okay. I enjoyed the hen of the woods and the half chicken, but found the other dishes to be too oily and lacking flavor. Especially the pea hummus and lentil falafel - a real missed opportunity. Service was great though!
As a big fan of cauliflower, I picked the cauliflower shawarma on the lunch menu. The cauliflower was perfectly fried. The beet pickles added very pleasant citrusy to the sandwich.
We were visiting my daughter and her husband in Brooklyn and a catch up with old family friends from New York and Belize. We are from the UK and my daughte spent 6 years in Beirut before moving to the US. We have always loved Lebanese food so chose this nearby restaurant as it has a good reputation. The menu was Middle Eastern but with a very American twist. We ordered a mixture off foods - Labneh Truffle Honey, Roasted Carrot Muhammara Baby Carrot, Brussel Sprouts Spiced Almond Butter, Harissa, Cranberry, Honey, Roasted Sunchoke Cumin Yogurt, Ricotta Salata, Sunchoke Chips, Dill. The service was great and the food absolutely delicious. We loved our evening there
I had the good fortune of being invited to a birthday dinner at this restaurant. We sat outside and from beginning to end were treated to absolutely scrumptious food served by an impecable, and patient, staff. Because it was served family style, I had the opportunity to taste everything on the menu that night. Each dish was prepared with care, taste and style--beautiful to look at and eat. The Mezé had a unique fusion twist on Mediterranean cooking; the outstanding highlight was the short rib shawarma hummus with pickled onions & chili. Each entree' was delectable, but the prize belonged to the aged ribeye with roasted tomato and brown sauce. And the desserts! Ohhh! The owner came out to check on us and say hello. The entire experience was "heaven on earth."
Came here for brunch and had the amazing pistachio french toast + short rib shawarma to share with my friend. Both equally delicious. Then brought my boyfriend here for dinner and tried an assortment of mezzes and the pork shank that was cooked so well it fell off the bone. Service was great, vibes and decor ??
Really clever, tasty Middle Eastern inspired food. The butternut squash kibbeh was amazing, and just really fun. The lamb was incredible: literally fell off the bone. Beyond this, the space and service were perfect.
