Wanted a Brooklyn made whiskey for a Christmas gift to a family friend, but didn't know much about what to choose. A young sistah working suggested a few options, talked us through taste & pallet, proof strength, varying prices depending on what we were looking to spend, and where each came from. This is a fantastic shop. The selection is diverse and well-curated at multiple price points; the staff is friendly and helpful; and prices are shockingly sane. Every neighborhood should have a wine store like this!
Went into the store looking for a particular bottle of $50 wine which I love. Asked a sales woman if they had it. Her response was, “no offense, but that’s like grocery store shelf wine” without any recommendations of possible better wines they had. I left feeling bad about my personal wine choices and feeling this like place is too pretentious for me. I will not be returning.
Karly is a gem. Simply mention your mood or a dinner dish to pair with, and she’ll have a bevy of hand-picked recommendations to choose from. Truly makes the neighborhood feel like home.
Bought some great wine and loved the series
Love this shop because of how they are organized: the wall is divided into 3 sections, $12, $15, and $18 so you can just look at the price range you are planning to spend. There are also more expensive bottles in the middle. Then every wine has a tag on it with suggested pairings and notes, which helps me a lot to branch out with my varietals. I really liked a Vinho Verde Rose that the employee recommended me because they were out of Vinho Verde. I also got a good Chianti but I can’t remember exactly what it was.
