Lovely place! We had lunch here today and enjoyed it so much. The back yard is just amazing, decorated with love and taste. The food was delicious and stuff very pleasant. The Bloe Door Souvlakia is a gem of Bay Ridge! Highly recommend cheese balls they have for all cheese lovers!

Again, my review has disappeared! I'm going to now write one on Google and all the social platforms. Now, to repeat my scathing review of Blue Door Souvlakia Restaurant.What an insult! Three weeks ago my brother and his partner, both medical professionals went to Blue Door Souvlakia Restaurant to have dinner. This was a Friday night. He went there to impress his non-Greek friend about the culinary beauty of Greek Cuisine. It's not home cooked meals like Yia Yia makes but an example of your typical Greek Taverna food that you can find in Astoria, Queens. However, instead of making the trip all the way out there, my brother decided to go to Bay Ridge since he works not too far away. Besides, Bay Ridge is still beautiful despite the recent overcrowding.Having said that, my brother ordered the lamb chops, fries, and a chicken souvlakia. When my brother received his order he said that the lamb chops tasted a little weird but he really didn't think too much about it! But the chicken souvlakia that he ordered for his partner was fine. So after they left the restaurant they decided to go to the city for some dessert. My brother said it was only an hour that passed by that he felt extremely nauseous, his body began to tremble, he felt cold and started to sweat! He then packed to the side of the street and ran out of the car and vomited at least five litres of vomit in a street corner trashcan!His partner a Registered ER Nurse said that she witnessed the vomiting and noted that he expelled at least five litres of vomit. After he vomited he felt lightheaded and his body continued to tremble. He said he could taste the rotten lamb as it exited his mouth! He even thought of going to the hospital but he chose to go home, rest and drink Gatorade, which made him feel a lot better. As a result, we will never go to Blue Door to order anything. They don't deserve our business nor do they deserve to continue to lie to people, and serve spoiled food because of a broken refrigerator.
This place is beyond amazing! Grilled calamari & Spring Rolls is so delicious and the sizing is great for two people!! The shrimp platter is fantastic too. I think what’s really interesting about this place is they do really good seasoning for their dishes, each one is unique. The blue sangria is lovely too
This is a small restaurant with no more than 15/20 tables , after seating we had to wait. 10 minutes to grab the waiter attention and after other 50 minutes after asking news about our food he told us it was almost a ready , Then after 10 more minutes we left This service is unacceptable
We had the Spanakopita, Blue Door Salad, Chicken Gyro Platter (didn't get a picture of the Shrimp Platter), all were done very well, fresh, tasty, seasoned and marinated nicely. I'd definitely recommend this place for a casual dinner. Minor drawbacks, it is on the smaller side with one bathroom, but didn't bother us.
Excellent food, service and ambiance - love the decor. Only reason for leaving room for improvement (4/5 stars) is due to music was too loud. Any genre of music is fine; Greek, Spanish, western or otherwise, but when conversational tone over dinner not possible, hard to fully enjoy the uniqueness of The Blue Door.
I went to eat at Blue Door in Bay ridge the Greek restaurant and I was so disappointed Truth: the place is beautiful inside but that’s it. The staff dint pay attention at all and they were busy on their phones, we were the only people in the place and it took them 40 minutes to bring us food and it was cold. They barely gave us food they filled our plate with salad and French fries. The food wasn’t good, the worse Falafel I ever had no taste at all. I will never come here again and I’m seriously done with Bay ridge restaurants! Bay ridge has gone worse, everytime I eat in Bay ridge I’m disappointed and upset! 80 dollars for two plates and we barely had any meat smh
Food is good but many issues made me and my family not repeat the experience.It was very inconvenient to have only one restroom that can be used by a man or a woman. In addition, the door lock is not working which made other customers open the door while you are using it.They held a big party in the same little area of other customers with their own families coming to enjoy their lunch in peace.Last, sitting next to the wood door, where we can hear and feel the air, gets us freezing uncomfortable and can't take off our coats .
