Absolutely love this place! The sandwiches are amazing, and I highly recommend the bread. It’s sad that they got a few negative reviews from trolling right-wingers, so definitely make sure you share the love on here after visiting!
Just discovered BKLYN Larder over the weekend (conveniently located in what is now a heavily gentrified neighborhood) and then they took it upon themselves to remove a beer because they disagree with the owner (pretty righteous considering what their current location looked like 15 years ago and for decades before that). I wonder if they know the political ideologies behind every single product in their shop to be making such sweeping gestures? Anyway, I will no longer be recommending them to our neighbors because they are proving to be consistently unneighborly.
Super expensive. Items are good but way overpriced. They stopped carrying one of my favorite local beers & tried to publicly shame the brewery bc the owner of the brewery was against vaccine mandates. I think it’s lame to shame other local businesses but will make an exception for small biz that try and harm their own. In short, I’d likely spend 4x on items here if the owners weren’t so despicable.PS Vaccine mandates literally discriminate against people, Black people in NYC have the lowest vaccination rates , which means the vaccine passports will more likely result in denying a Black person entry.
Beer + Cheese Tasting - this was my first Yelp Event! A special little market place off of Flatbush Ave, which you should totally take the time to check out. Even if just for the lovely cheesy smell. There's more than just an abundance of cheese options, such as a variety of creative ice cream flavors, meats, and beer. There were 3 sampling stations with reps describing the beer and cheese pairings. I learned about some new beers which tasted better than I expected. I'm not very much a beer person so this was a great way to try new beers recommended to go well with something I do enjoy...CHEESE! The staff was lovely, Sandy (I hope I got her name right ) was especially helpful and explained a variety of salads (see in pictures). I loved the roasted cauliflower salad, delicious!
Everything I’ve ever gotten here from bakery, grab and go, special products they sell for gifts, bread, breakfast & lunch sandwiches have always been such high quality and delicious! I love this place, prices are higher but the quality of everything is also very high so it is absolutely worth it! Take some time to browse all their products when you wait for food. So cute inside too
Mandy helped us host a virtual holiday cheese tasting event for ~30 people. Not only was she super organized and on top of things despite many last-minute changes, but she was a fabulous host - extremely knowledgeable and skilled at making people feel welcome to participate despite a large-group Zoom environment. We got the 'Larder Favorites' tasting kit and the cheese was uniformly delicious (the Prairie Cheese Cheddar and Brabander in particular). We would definitely recommend BKLYN Larder and Mandy to co-workers and would do this again in the future.
Mandy helped us host a virtual event with our clients. Absolutely incredible cheeses and she was perfect at hosting everyone on zoom. We’ve done a lot of virtual sessions and this was by far the best. Mandy is beyond knowledgeable without being pretentious, and strikes the right balance of leading the event while allowing everyone else to connect and ask questions. Thank you Mandy!!!
I love the variety of products that you don't find elsewhere. Staff are friendly and helpful always! I love going in there!
We ordered a number of items from BKLYN Larder yesterday and, while eating one of the cheddar chive biscuits this morning, my husband bit into a piece of glass that was baked into the biscuit. I called them immediately and they offered to refund my order, but that’s indicative of some serious carelessness in the kitchen. Beware.Update - I can’t respond to the management post below, but I spoke to someone at the restaurant directly twice today. Once to report the issue, and again during a follow-up call that they made. I left my full name and contact information both times if YOU would like to contact me again.
