What I found most impressive was the back garden, surrounded by small tress to provide just enough shade, making a hot sunny day comfortable and inviting. The decor is home-like with the wooden cabinets, accessories. The staff is super friendly and fun to speak with. What made this a three-star rating was the food. My friend ordered a house salad, but she pointed out that besides the greens, and some grated cheese, there was nothing appealing - some dried raisins, or small tomatoes would have made it a more delectable dish. I ordered the burger. It was a bit too large for my mouth, and the bread fell apart half-way through due to the grease. I don't mind paying almost $20 for a burger, with bacon, and fries, but if I had taken a picture of what the burger looked like half-way, it would have turned some people away.

By far my new favorite neighborhood restaurant, and hands down the best French restaurant I’ve been to in NYC. Vibe is amazing — owner is magnetic & friendly, music is a mood (on Thursday they have a live jazz band!!), wine list is superb, and most importantly the food is out of this world. You must go. Everything I’ve had there is amazing, you’ll love anything you order!!

My wife and I ate at Bistro So last night around 7pm. I will start this review with the positives. The ambience was wonderful, the service was great and the fries were delicious. We shared the beef tartare topped with a raw quail egg, and she had the oysters by herself. Unfortunately, around 10pm she started feeling sick and we rushed home. We couldn’t get home fast enough and she became violently ill from food poisoning in the car on the drive home. Once home, she spent several hours sick in the bathroom and even chose to sleep in the kitchen to be close by. We’ve both had food poisoning before and it was the worst I have ever seen. I called the restaurant this evening to inform the manager of what happened so they could look into their food safety, and was clear we weren’t trying to gain anything from this situation, we just didn’t want anyone else getting sick. The manager (a woman whose name I didn’t get) was not at all concerned and was adamant that my wife did not get food poisoning from their restaurant, claiming that you don’t see symptoms until a day after exposure, which is untrue (you can become ill after as little as 30 minutes of exposure) and assured me that their food is incredibly fresh and wouldn’t even consider the possibility that she got sick from one of the three raw dishes she consumed. We weren’t going to leave a negative review as long as the restaurant agreed to simply look into the situation but their lack of concern and accountability deemed it necessary.

Came here for a private party. They have two back rooms, we were in the farthest one - very rundown and cold (this was a few months ago). They have a small bar back there with limited selections, but for the small basement like room the high prices for drinks didn’t seem right.Towards the end of the night we decided to get some food, and the restaurant was accommodating. A few of us got a small table last minute, and the food was really good - especially the fries and the gnocchi!

Amazing place. Probably the best foie gras I’ve ever eaten. We had a great nice at this bistro. A true gem in Williamsburg.

TLDR: awesome food & amazing vibes, come here for brunch, dinner and everything in between. Jazz nights are on Thursday and it’s awesome fun!I was so disappointed when Pâtes & Traditions closed their doors, so you can imagine my excitement when I heard one of the owners was opening a new restaurant on Driggs street!Bistro So is fav spot in Williamsburg for brunch, dinner or if you just fancy a drink before you need to head somewhere else! The owner is so welcoming and always very attentive. My first experience here was coming for brunch where I enjoyed the frenchy burger, it was cooked perfectly and was the best burger I’ve had in New York. Friends all enjoyed their brunch options which I’ve included pics of. We also shared the Camembert which was delish. The next time we came was for a dinner on a Thursday night and our surprise/delight, there was a live jazz night! It made for such a fun and exciting vibe but could also still hear conversations with your friends. I can’t remember what my dish was called it was delicious and very filling. We came again yesterday and sat out the front with a cocktail, it was great people watching! Can’t wait to come back again!!

Great ambience, food is good, and prices are reasonable for nyc standards! We got the french onion soup, fries, truffle gnocchi, and steak. the steak was flavored great and the price is unbeatable! truffle gnocchi was my favorite, the truffle really comes through. Service was great and wine options are pretty good too.

The real deal. Super beautiful vibe. Really cozy, chill & great food. I'm happy I found this spot. Well, actually my fiancée found it & also was way less dangerous after her L'Oeuf Cocotte . I had a great non dairy soup that healed my soul. Soup was $10 and made my morning. Go check it out!

Absolutely great experience! Super friendly staff and amazing food! Will definitely be back and highly recommend ?.

This place was so good. We’ve been to quite a few French places in Williamsburg and this is definitely the best one. I got the Croque Madame and my boyfriend got a crepe. Both were incredible. I was worried it wasn’t going to be enough for the price, but we were both full!
