I usually get the meatloaf, but they didn’t have any this past Sunday (Mother’s Day) so I ordered some fried fish instead… Sunday night I started feeling sick… Monday I stayed home from work… Tuesday I went to work and had to leave early… and today (Wednesday) I decided to consult with Urgent Care. I have food poisoning and will be out of work until Saturday. I haven’t been able to keep anything down.The max and cheese was nothing but oil and the yams were over killed with sugar. I hate to leave a review/ response like this but when I pay for something - I expect not to get sick from it.
I stepped in before going into another store but it was a bit bust. So I left and came back...still busy but I stayed because some looked like delivery orders.You can scan the menu....I didn't observe one in the store. Healthy portions. I ordered the baked chicken with Mac and cheese with potato salad. I was nervous because the baked chicken was a bit light but it was cooked when I ate it. Definitely comfort food. I was stuffed after eating one of my 3 pieces of chicken with half of my Mac and cheese and not even half of the potato salad. I have enough for tomorrow. My only comment would be just darken the chicken a bit. Service was good as well.
Walked in and instead of being greeted I was asked if I was an Uber driver instead of asking if I was a customer. Then when I was asked about what was in the chicken wrap due to allergy issues, I get stared down instead of the question being answered. im good y’all need better front end people who actually like that job, I will not be going to any more establishments, it’s not the same at all from when they first opened.
I ordered the turkey meatloaf platter. I normally order it from HALSEY BSFF when doing Uber eats. Unfortunately Halsey did not have it. The meatloaf tasted as if they poured a box of salt and loads of sugar in itThe candied yams tasted like pure sugar and the mac and cheese was just indescribably horrible. If I can't get it from HALSEY BSFF I won't get it. Also ordered the Catfish Platter w/mac and cheese and collards. Catfish not seasoned you know about the sides. $40 Shot to hell.Still have to order dinner.

When the right chef is thier the Food is on point.. Only problem I had was my jerk chicken was not jerk it taste more like oxtail juice on it
The staff is very disrespectful. After buying $80 worth of food they forgot to give me my salad when I went back for my food the lady stuck her middle finger at me. She then proceeded to remove her apron and they a pan that landed inches from my face while her manager looked on and said nothing.
Great food easy-going place staff are polite enjoyed the salmon meal but many option. Delicious, great atmosphere, great food, excellent staff. Manager Sparkle sparkles. Will go back for more food lots of option.
I only did take out but the take out was good in terms of the food that I am definitely coming in person to order and tip cause my taste buds didn’t expect this . Everything was amazing, down to the half &half ice tea , the whiting sandwich , the cream of broccoli soup and oh my that sweet corn .. crack .. like it’s a mix of minor corn meal and corn .. I love everything . Hopefully the in person experience keeps the same energy.
