Food and drinks are excellent. Hosts are incredible. Been here several times prior to this evening where we celebrated my wife's bday.Come here, you won't regret it.

We’ve been ordering delivery from Barano since exactly the first week of the pandemic and it has been one of our comforts. Sadly we have yet to experience a meal here in person, but our dinners are always amazing even as takeout. I love how many gluten free options there are - the saffron gigli is so unique and such a fun change of pace from regular the GF penne substitute usually offered. We’ve had one or two GF pizzas a little burnt and over cooked but that’s the only complaint I can come up with. I dream about the torta cioccolata- the texture is perfectly chewy yet a tarte, decadent but not so rich you can’t finish.

This was one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at in NYC! Food was AMAZING and the restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate the dietary restrictions at our table. Loved the GF pizza and noodles!! Delicious!!! Wait staff was wonderful - nice and knowledgeable. Would eat here again and again!!!

We were around the area, and happened to walk in for lunch. So glad we did. Lovely ambiance! It was early, so the place wasn’t too crowded and we were served right away. They were thin crust pies, but 2 large pizzas were plenty for 4 of us.

Delicious meal with great service!

barano came highly reccomended and it stood to the hype!!! The nduja pizza and maccheroni vodka were outstanding!! Cannot wait to come back again. Wow!!

The saffron gigli and the branzino are INCREDIBLE. Couldn’t recommend this spot more. And our pup loves sitting outside with us!

Delicious salmon, wine, and dessert in nice atmosphere. Leaving a 5 but service for me was more of a 4. Feedback for the restaurant — it felt very forced and rushed. It’s not pleasant having someone check on you every couple of minutes interrupting conversation to try and clear plates before we’re done etc.

I was sharing a very special “night for girls” with my friend Janna Alvarado, who is a Dasher in this area and she knows about restaurants, so, she invited me to dinner at Barano where I found spectacular service, nice waitress and delicious food!

First the excellent: the wait staff is phenomenal. Engaged, funny, attentive, fast. Absolutely loved the two guys who served our 20+ family dinner Second, the good: texture. Go bread, good pasta, more than other cuisines, require that you get the density and firmness right, and in this regard Barano nailed it. Third, the so-so: Seasoning. The kitchen was, overall, so scared of bold flavors it felt like they were playing to the Denny's or Appleby's crowd...in Williamsburg, fer cryin' out loud. There was no garlic to speak of in the Caesar salad. None i the garlic bread, which drew great flavor from the pesto on it, so why not just call it what it is: pesto bread? Even the meatballs were tame. Among the appetizers, the antipasto and the Brussels Spout Salad stood out for willingness to tickle the taste buds. The primi were equally divided. the Saffron Gigli -- a curious pink not yellow -- had virtually no favor. The tagliatelle, conversely, was excellent, with a nice meat sauce where all teh promised ingredients came through. But then the cacio e pepep ravioli, while, again, showing a wonderful combination of textures with the al dente pasta playing against the smooth ricotta, had nary a trace of pepper. I will give them credit for two really good desserts in the Zeppole and the Torta Chocolata.. But the bottom line is that when you're trying to be one of the cool kids in the heart of Williamsburg, your kitchen needs to show more consistency and more boldness to stand out...
