Got the patacon (green plantains not sweet) with shredded beef. Sad to say the meat was severely under-seasoned (even less than Chipotle meat) and the "spicy" mayo tasted like regular mayo.No other complaints, customer service and cleanliness were good. I have never tried their main location in Queens, so the lack of seasoning could just be a problem with this location.

I got a steak arepa de queso, and my first few bites were super delicious - an amazing mix of cheese, sweetness, and flavorful meat, By the end, though, I found the arepa itself to be a bit too sweet. The garlic aioli they provided helped to balance it, but I felt it needed something else to keep the sweetness from being overpowering. Nonetheless, it is worth trying (and maybe sharing or splitting, with a tasting menu of other options!) even if I might not recommend it as your sole entree.

Nothing like real South American food. It tasted like they forgot to add any seasoning to the meat or the arepas. Extremely bland and dry.

My Colombian wife says the food here is the real deal and I just find it amazing myself. Staff are always so friendly, and I would like to give the owner a shout out to Valentina for being such a hard worker who makes you feel welcome.

I had the chorizo & cheese arepas. They’re good, but definitely nowhere near the best ones I’ve had.

I have celiac, and according to the person all but one arepa on the menu is gluten free. He didn’t seem super confident so I was a bit nervous, but I didn’t get sick! I would love if they labeled allergens/gluten free items on the menu to help diners with allergies feel more confident eating there (and to attract more gluten free customers!) I got a steak and cheese arepa and it was delicious and one was super filling! Great to have a solid gluten free option in DeKalb Market.

Ever since I was little and living in Queens, NY. The creator of the arepas con queso were my favorite snacks ever. She would be on the corner of certain streets in Queens over the years until one day she stopped appearing. Then someone I knew about 4 years ago found a place that I described the arepa and how much I loved them. We came here to see if he really found the snack I've missed for so long. I purchased one to test and as soon as I smelled it, I knew and was so excited I found the place that sells what I've missed. Come to find out the son took over the business and has one place here and one in Queens. I still would love to know their recipe ^_^... For now I'll always visit when I can!

love the arepas de choclo. the you d lady who works here is very knowledgeable and helpful

i was so excited to try this place but naturally i had a lot of questions because i have dietary restrictions. the woman that took my order was insanely rude to me and added a tip to my receipt without asking. very disappointed :/ the food itself is alright but i wont be coming back because of how nasty the cashier was.

Excellent food. Fresh, healthy portions and good service
