i came here after a tattoo once for a quick lunch and it was delicious! came here again after a concert with a friend after remembering this place around 9:30, we were seated in the back right away and the back garden seating was so cozy. it was covered but had heat lamps and hearing the rain patter on the roof was so comforting and nice. the food was DELICIOUS. the rock shrimp tempura had the most yummy honey mustard sauce and i could’ve had a whole second order. my friend and i loved the vibes of the restaurant. it was so great and i’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for delicious, fresh sushi.
A great spot for catching up with friends and having a few drinks. The presentation and quality of the sushi rolls were great! Felt as though I was dining at Nobu but with a more relaxed and casual atmosphere.
We came here one rainy Sunday afternoon, thankfully their backyard area is covered with a transparent roof and we were able to hear and see the raindrops, we found it whimsical!Since I have not had a bento box in months, I ordered it to see what is their take on it. I selected salmon teriyaki bento. They first served a veggie salad with ginger dressing followed by miso soup. The bento box came with 4 pieces of California roll, 2 pieces of fried siomai, white rice, and salmon teriyaki on a bed of mixed greens. I thought the serving was generous for $13, and it didn’t compromise the quality nor the taste. On our way out, I told our server that we will come back next weekend. With great customer service and price points, who wouldn’t?!
My friends and I were very impressed by the quality of sushi & sashimi at Ako. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, and the portions were generous. I’m looking forward to visiting again soon!
I been going around Williamsburg restaurants trying different foods and I have pass by Ako a lot of times and I didn’t notice this gem. The patio seating is great, warm and cozy. The sushi was fantastic. We started with the tuna tataki and the edamame. Then some rolls. The rainbow roll was delicious. The staff was great !!
We're here with someone very special to me, and we had a really good meal. The service was pretty prompt and knowledgeable of the options. The sushi tasted so fresh and so good. I had four rolls, The Golden dragon, Toro scallion, the Philadelphia, and the sweet potato tempura which was out of this world. Did not have any alcohol so I can't comment on that but Japanese beer has never been a disappointment to me. I would say this is definitely a place to check out, if you're in the mood for sushi and a calm and peaceful environment, Ako is the place.
I don't remember what we ordered (I'm writing this review a few weeks after my visit) - but nothing was disappointing. We sat inside and had a drink as we waited for our takeout. They've got an efficient take out/ eat in workflow. I work in logistics and naturally observe the front desk of a restaurant. Consistency is key!
Great spot for casual Japanese food with a cute patio. Good for a quick lunch, or a dinner date. This place has been a neighborhood staple, and glad to see they have improved over the years. The staff is still the same friendly people. The food is delicious yet isn’t expensive. They have a good selection of sashimi, sushi, and rice bowls, and noodle bowls.
Sushi was good, tasted fresh, not too expensive either. Service was okay, not rememberable but definitely not unpleasant either. Would probably return at some point.
