Wanted to love this place since I’m Japanese and not too far from my house but was greatly disappointed in the Katsu bento. Overpriced to begin with and my order was missing the chicken meatball. The chicken Katsu I did get was cold and chewy, the rice was also stale and cold. Idk how we waited for 10 minutes for cold food?! Doesn’t make sense…Also tried the Onigiri rice ball which was amazing somehow was warmer and fresher than my bento.
Best onigiri I've had outside of japan. Even has the combini wrappers!Pork Sando is also excellent.Big fan.
The rice balls are amazing! I love this place. So many different snacks,frozen food, and ready made food options.
I've been here for their bento takeout, and it's all so delicious. I frequently come by just to get an onigiri (rice triangle) snack before my train ride. Love this place and soo much needed in this area!
They used to have the best karaage, it was crunchy、 crispy、Juicy and most importantly it was authentic Japanese fried chicken. Sadly…today I got my Karaage bento, and it was rock hard and dry chicken!!! So disappointed!!! what’s going on Myrtle Diner???? Any Japanese restaurant can make better Karaage then you so why I need to order from you?
I really didn't like the karaage here. It was large and really greasy and didn't feel as lightly fried as other karaage I've had. I'm also not positive but I think whatever I ate made me sick later on. I will probably still try something else from there sometime!

Bland but crispy Karaage. Employees didn't seem so happy.

glad this place was able to pivot into a Japanese grocery store/ amazing takeout spot. might be the best tonkatsu & karaage I've had in the city.
