This location used to have great fried chicken. I’d travel far for this chicken but the last four times I’ve ordered, it’s been a disaster. The last time the chicken was so salty I had to throw away a medium plate of food. This place needs better cooks. I will now have to go somewhere else if they don’t shake up.
Today was my first time visiting this place. The lady who was working the register is unprofessional and rude. A guy came in to pick up an order he placed 40min prior and they failed to tell him there was no more veg. Instead of apolozing and offering something else the cashier just got an attitude with him. I also ordered a meal with veg before the man came in, and they didn't tell me either that there was no more veg. I didn't bother addressing it cause I had waited there long enough and needed to go. I will never go to this place again .
The food is really good here and they have an amazing menu selection. The prices are very affordable and the service is one of a kind.
The food wasn't good, the service was EXTREMELY slow, on top of that the cashier didn't have coin to give me my correct change. The worst part is they lie to the customers. Here's it they'll not let you short them, but they're shorting customers. I was shorted 48 cents or more, being told that I'll get my change while I wait for my meal to be served.... the story goes on... never got my change
I do uber eats delivery on the side and I went there to pick up an order. These ladies were talking, laughing and using indecent language. They kept looking at me and laughin and mumbling to each other I have never felt more uncomfortable in a restaurant ever in my life. Then when the order I was picking up was ready they plopped it down on the counter and continued talking. I was trying to get their attention so I can take it they kept ignoring me. Safe to say I will not be returning.
Just like many other Jamaican restaurants, you have to deal with someone's nasty attitude from behind the counter...Mumbling under their breath and teeth sucking because a CUSTOMER asked a simple question.. The food isn't all that great and this makes a second time I got to work and no spoon for the porridge and no fork for my lunch....I gave them several chances but now I'm done with this place..
It was great!!! Food was real tasty like the real Jamaican style. It was worth every penny. We had the fish, baked chicken, curry goat, fried chicken with rice and sides mac & cheese plantain and veggies. Would recommend anyday.
When I'm in New York, I would text my daughter to order food on the app and have it delivered to me. This time around I visited the restaurant on Fish Avenue. Never again! All the young 'ladies' in there need to get rid of. They have no manners! It's like they take the business for a joke. They talk the whole way through sharing the food, while chewing gum- not a mask in sight. (Only the cashier was wearing a mask). They were in no hurry to serve the food. They were busy chatting, walking all over the place, using indecent language etc. Seeing that they can't work without 'chatting', they should always be in mask. Who wants to have people talking over their foods?.Most times they don't have what's on the menu via the app, and you won't know until Doordash informs you. The food isn't good sometimes. The owner needs new workers who are interested in working and who are professional. Seeing it first hand, I will no longer be buying from Richie's- whether in person or the app. It's a NO from me.
Love the ackee and saltfish. Large portions and tasty
Way better then Burke Ave Richie Rich. Pricey.. Food was cooked well tho. Service is poor. Card machine always out of order. Wait time is way to long and workers are not friendly, rude and harsh dispositions. I will not return to this location or Burke Ave. So much for the experience.
