The pork is incredible, definitely worth going for that alone.It's also clearly such an important focal point for people. The line had people. Just hanging out and chatting about. The owner is a character and will wield his machete whilst slowly enjoying a beer and the day as it goes on. Definitely would go back again.

WOW!! What an incredible spot. A must-do in New York City. La Piraña is a community institution. Just get lechón, the seafood, and rice and beans. Dump garlic sauce and hot sauce. Maybe some plantains.

If you're a germaphobe, you'll immediately be deterred once you step into the food truck. Locals were inside smoking cigarettes and selling little trinkets (which is common in the 'hood). I actually felt like I was buying food at a newsstand in the train station. Other than that -- I ordered the roast pork and shrimp mofongo. The quality of both was exceptional! The roast pork melts in your mouth and the shrimp mofongo was more flavorful than anything I've ever had in Puerto Rico. The reason for the four stars was the cleanliness, but other than that, it was definitely worth the trip. I'll be back for sure!
This is real Puerto Rican lechon, Some of the very best I have had. Angel is a true gentleman and knows how to take care of his customers, I will definitely be returning on a regular basis ????
