They just need to expand so they can accommodate more cars the food is great drinks are great.

Management PLEASE READ!!I have over 10 years going to Johnnys for the pina colada, fish fillet and snow crab tray. Visited yesterday on 5/15/22 with my family ordered 3 trays of snow crab legs all which were terribly salty. We tried to surpass saltiness but it was too much and barely any of the butter sauce it was dry. After waiting for so long to open for Spring I was really disappointed on taste of crab legs. My family and I had to throw away. There goes $100.00 out of window. It was such a shame I didn’t mention it to manager because returning food and giving a complaint about food is never a good idea. Asking that management revisits ingredients on food and please go back to traditional old style of your food. Taste is not the same.
The food was delicious hot and fresh.Fast service I didn’t have to wait longMy whole meal was really good and they have the best tartar sauce I’ve ever tasted lol.I wish the onion rings had more seasonings, but they were not bad. The pina colada was delicious as well.The prices. The portions and the quality of the food. You can’t beat it.My first time but not not my last time here.
Had a feeling for some seafood so I did a quick Google search , this place came up with excellent reviews so I decided to pop in .I must say I WASN’T IMPRESSED . The food was cooked quickly to order so that was a plus but it was tasteless ? I starting think maybe something was wrong with me because it had NO FLAVOR at all . Not even the drink had flavor just ice with a splash of henny ? only thing that was good was that little cherry .The meal was 120 all together with the food shown and 2 drinks which in my opinion is pricey for what is offered .The view is beautiful because it sits at the end of the island . I would be a nice spot for a hot summer day .Maybe I came in on a bad day but I won’t be returning . Happy eating ? ?
I bought two orders of snow crabs and I almost couldn't eat them because they were too salty. Next time I go there I will ask for the manager and bring it to his attention. I was looking forward to enjoying my snow crabs but I couldn't enjoy them because the salt was too much. Hopefully the next time I buy some they won't be so salty and I get the pleasure to enjoy them!
I love this place!!! Johnny's Reef is my favorite spot on City Island, I come here to have a quick and delicious seafood meal. Been coming here since my early 20's and now I'm in late 50's, just as everything else, I've watched the increase in prices but what can you do. They now have enclosure outside, where it's heated and very comfortable to sit and enjoy your meal without being bothered by the birds UNLESS you have some ignorant person who decides to start feeding them as someone did when I was there. But beside that... go and enjoy the food, you will not be disappointed.
Iove the scallops the most. but all the food is Great. The tartar sauce is the Bomb.
This is an amazing seafood restaurant on City Island.. Everytime I come to New York it is a must that I go to Johnny's to eat. Some of the b st food around and their tartar sauce is the bomb. Reasonably priced and you definitely get a large serving for the prices. I would have to day the best restaurant on the island. Come check it out you will not be disappointed.
