Restaurant is nice and clean and look rather upscale for the area. Walk in saw a woman behind the counter she rudely walked away and did not acknowledged my presence. I was the only customer in line I tried to alert someone to attend to me got no response.....a young man came five minutes after and took my order. The employees need to retrain on proper customer service....they are cold and unreceptive. Smiling and greeting would not have hurt....it would of made a better experience.
I ordered with Uber eats, I specifically asked nicely for gravy on the rice & jerk sauce on the chicken wings. I get sever a DRY plate of rice & chicken . By the way this is a large ?
I used to come here for years and recommend this place to lots of ppl. I'm extremely picky. The food used to be great guaranteed, but after they came back from renovations, the food fell off. The rice changed (and I'm a rice head), it was either over cooked or undercooked, the meats were too sweet or spicy like the pepper bust, and veggies looking dried out and you can't see the food which was the biggest selling factor for me. The place is gorgeous and I personally don't get any attitudes from anyone, just disappointed about the food and the prices lately. Hope things get better. I'm cheering for you guys!
when it comes to the attitude of the workers it’s just filthy. Poor customer service = poor business. And they also don’t take apple pay as if it’s not 2022. A simple “hi what would you like” is all that’s needed. They just look at you to walk up and order. And godforbid you change your mind or don’t know what you want. This lady on tiktok also made a review abt their workers @foodieneishnyc.
In all honesty, I couldn’t enjoy my food because I was so infuriated. In the restaurant business great food and good customer service goes hand in hand. I hope the owner reads this cause they should know the people working the counter is beyond rude and obviously doesn’t like their job. I won’t be back. Roccatone better anyway!???
There grade is an A.That place is so clean the stainless steel shines.The staff was friendly the food is magnificent.My daughter ordered the brown stew snapper with peas and rice I had oxtail peas and rice, my husband had fish and peas and rice also.Honey child we was fit to be tied eating this delicious food.I live in Harlem we will travel to the Bronx from now on.They are the real deal.
The food is great...One of the best place in New York to get your food,....when passing through.. shrimp is awesome.
How you have a sign that says “protect this black business” but your workers attitude make it hard to even care about the business. The attitude is stink with women but when a man is ordering the girls is all smiles and hot in the pants. It’s disgusting, I did not even want my food from you people.

I use to love eating at Gold Star..But after messing up my orders a few time through Uber Eats, and in the space of a few days purchasing a curry chicken dinner and a Chicken Soup( which was so so salty) Chef ease up on de salt PLEASE!
