Walked past the store & was drawn in by the delicious odor emanating from the front open door. Walked in & said, “something smells good but I don’t know what it is & I would like to try.” Then realized there was a small communication issue, but thankfully a gentleman at a table provided a helpful interpretation. The kind ladies went above & beyond to help me get a slice each of both the meat & cheese. Wow! This dish is delicious & whenever I pass this neighborhood, I will order a entire pie to take back home & maybe an extra meat slice to eat on the way!
Great Burek from a little, no-nonsense place. There are only 3 options: meat, cheese, or spinach burek, and they're all good. Our favorite was the spinach, though the meat came in a close second. At $6 per slice (quarter pie) or $24 for the whole thing, I would recommend getting one of each.
It’s just ok burek l, I’ve had better in the Bronx. Also at $6 it’s overpriced for something that has less ingredients than a slice of pizza
i love these ladies, they’re very sweet and always have a smile on their face, the cheese bureks are my favorite!
As an ethnic Albanian I can truly say that the Burek here is the best in the Bronx. Not only that but it’s just as good as the ones back home. It comes in 3 varieties, spinach, meat or cheese and traditionally it is chased down with yogurt which they also make homemade.
Had mine for breakfast at 930 am. Was absolutely delish. Flaky and fresh. I chose spinach and cheese. Friendly staff. Highly recommend this spot!
Prices have increased like everywhere else. But still worth a visit. This is good cold and rewarms well. $24 per pie. It's not so much the filling but the bread!
It's a meat pie shaped like a pizza. Get a slice for $6. Flaky on the outside. Chewy on the inside. Comes in meat, cheese or spinach. Get a cappuccino on the side for $3. You'll be glad you did.
First time having burek and it was hot and delicious. Glad we stopped to try something new. The meat and cheese pies were hot and delicious.
Tried it for the first time and it was delicious! Everytime I'm in the area, I think of getting one.
