Okay so… if want authentic Italian with an Italian host who makes you feel at home and like part of the famiglia, Vite is the place. Chef Rizzo is a genius. Took my Sicilian aunt here and she loved it. Pino and her talked like old friends from the old country. Authentic Italian dishes with that Old Country feel Im the heart of Astoria!
Delicious Italian food and great service. The owner sits you as you come in since they don't take reservations. He is very warm and even in a busy Friday night you don't have to wait more than the time it takes you to have a drink at the bar. Also, you can feel the good quality of ingredients for their food as everything is very tasteful and fresh. The presentation of the plates is very creative and the portions are good too.
Spent a week in NYC and ate all meals out and this was by far my best dining experience. Perhaps a little cramp inside but the overall feel was cozy and not crowded. Took a chance on one of the specials which was chocolate fettuccine with a wild boar sauce. It had me curious and almost stayed away from it because of the idea of chocolate fettuccine but it was so subtle in the fettuccine it proved to be an excellent combination. The staff was very nice and efficient. I will definitely try and get back there when I'm in the area again.
Came here during Restaurant week on a Thursday evening.I really enjoyed the burrata appetizer, it was delicious, so was the bread pudding! Rigatoni al pesto was not my favorite, just a bit too oily and al dente to my taste. My friend ordered salmon tarte and branzino filet, both were good. The restaurant was extremely busy, all tables were occupied and it felt too cramped inside. Although the service was okay, I was surprised to see that on top of 20% service fee that was already charged as part of the restaurant week, there was another note asking for a cash tip, a surgare for a credit card payment, and a receipt with extra tip option. What initially was supposed to be an affordable meal ended up being a regular priced dinner in NYC..
My friend and I wanted to grab italian food but a location that wasn’t deemed too romantic. We can across VITE Vinosteria in Astoria, Queens. What an absolute delight. Service extremely attentive. Decor is beautiful besides being tightly squeezed with nosy patrons who often pierced their eyes on our food or attempted to listen to our conversation. The food is delicious. The food is served in a small frying pan which is absolutely clean and free of markings and stains of any kind. The drinks are good. Quality drinksIf you don’t speak italian; well not a problem, just go to the bathroom for some lessons. The bathrooms is equipped with audio that teaches you italian words or sayings. Depends how long you’re in the bathroom you can learn a few words. Lol. Please be cognizant that there is only one bathroom to this location.Pricing was fair and comfortable for dinner for two. Highly recommend to check out this lovely italian eatery in Astoria.
the food is absolutely phenomenal, but is definitely pricy. the best italian restaurant in astoria. would highly recommend ordering off the specials board, but honestly almost all their dishes are great.
What a wonderful, cozy, sweet, homey, cute place. The food is amazing, tastes original Italian, very delicious! None of that heavy creamy sauces. Just perfect portions, perfect presentation and variety. The owner is such a gentleman, a highly devoted, hands on, friendly, service oriented man. The servers have actually interest in the customers' needs and they have excellence in hospitality mindset. One can come here alone to dine, sit at the bar, enjoy the warm hospitality. I am hooked now. Will make this my top 5 priority dining, socializing spot!
Amazing Italian restaurant. We’ve arrived at Vite about 7:15 pm, it was our luck to get there before packed. After spending time reading menu, we decided to go with 1 special, 1 paste, and 1 pizze but still couldn’t decide which one to go with because everything looks so delicious!!!! So we asked server and we went with his recommendations.First a special pork belly on skewer, 6 skewers for $19.95. It was very good, the soft and tender of grilled pork belly with grape sauce was very delicious. Even though it’s called Grape sauce but it’s not sour at all. It’s original flavor from Italy. 9/10 (I’m not. If fan of pork belly but it’s very very good.Second were tortellini di zucca homemade pasta, I called it as Italian dumpling (lol) with creamy pumpkin sauce. First bite, OMG!!! Second, still omg. I have to admit this dish was very good. The inner filler of pasta has a sour flavor which helped accommodate the heavy creamy sauce, made it not too heavy to finish. 8/10Last was Pizze; Tartufata; zucchini, mushroom, truffle topped of the thin and crispy pizza NY style. Ex-cel-Lent-o! Excellent in Italian accent lmao!!! Apparently pizza was a best last dish to call it a night and you won’t be regret this. 8/10Overall, Vite Vinosteria is a great Italian restaurant. I’m not a big fan of cheese, creamy, or even Italian soccer! But love this place.Ps. Wanna learn Italian? Don’t forget to use the bathroom there.Tips: arrive there before 7:30 pm, especially if you are big party. otherwise you might ended up waiting for table like 45 mins lol
