I came here because of a good experience at the other neptune diner in Bayside and this place was a huge let down… Simple stuff like fake syrup, slightly burned pancakes and overcooked omelettes. I imagine this place was probably fine at some point in the past but at least have actual syrup if you’re a diner, this isn’t a west virginia waffle house and my friends and I feel like it was a waste of a trip to go.
Try to go to Neptune soon. The City has rezoned the area and Neptune will soon be bulldozed so rich developers can build high-rise condos for extremely rich people. No diner is more atmospheric than Neptune, and the food is a cut above the typical diner. Efficient service and fair prices. A great diner in every way and it won't last long.
The wait for the food was a little much but the food was excellent. One might even say it was worth the wait. I have been noticing a trend that appears in restaurants that also have take out, it seems take out takes precedence over the people who are eating in. I'm not sure that that is fair. I was told by the waiter that is what held up my food.
An Astoria staple. Been living in Astoria and eating here regularly for 12 years and this place has never, ever disappointed. Very, very friendly staff and blindingly fast service. Dine here if you want to be treated like you're a guest of, or part of the Astoria family.
I've been going here since I was little. Having lived in NYC my whole life, I've been to many diners but Neptune is the best dinner food in town. The space is very cozy and the service is great.
My favourite diner in New York! Excellent service, pleasant interiors, delicious food.
They now close the kitchen at 11:30 PM, out the door by midnight! Order ahead.Staff is so warm and friendly. They made me a stiff drink and a BLT. Queens never felt like home until I dined at Neptune.
Conveniently located, with a small parking lot in the rear. Friendly staff and comfortable booths. The food is decent is priced moderately. The bathrooms separated by sex are clean. American and Greek fare, with full bar and several bottled beers. There is an automated teller machine on premises.
Comfortable lighting and decent food, serving American and Greek fare. Waitstaff older and friendly. Pricing fair. Bathrooms clean. Full bar and bottled beer. Small parking lot in the rear.
NOTE: THIS IS FOR THE BAYSIDE NY NEPTUNE DINER. My bro in law kept telling me how good this diner is, that we tried it fr the first time and i think the last time. Located on Bell Blvd and 35th ave, the parking is small, otherwise you would have to find spots on the side street. Luckily we were there at 4:45pm, so there were spots open. In the lobby is a blackboard with 5 or 6 specials. The mail menu is typical diner food. I had the pot roast which came with potato and baby carrots which were cut spears that were steamed for a bit.I had the lobster bisque which was ok but a bit too salty. The ladies had the stuffed mushroom dinner which also came with potato and veggie. My wife had the garden salad and our friend had the bisque as I had. Their were 4 nice sized mushrooms but the it had more stuffing than crabmeat. My pot roast looked like slices of roast beef in the brown gravy which also was too salty for me. Meat was a bit too hard like it was cooked once and then reheated. Nothing else came with the meals. The diner looks nicer than the Jackson Hole diner it replaced. Bell Blvd is a disaster to drive down on restaurant row. Parking is basically a disaster because city planners want to have a small business area but with close to 100 eating places there is no accommodation for parking.
