Love Bund! My boyfriend and I regularly order take out here—it comes quickly and well packed (important with soup dumplings), and is delicious. Our favorite dish is the Wonton Soup, the dough texture is perfect, the broth is clear and flavorful, and when you bite into the wontons the greens in the pork mixture are bright green and fresh! I always like a side of veg and I really enjoy cucumbers and mushrooms—simple and delicious. I’ll have to stop by for an in-house dinner some time!
I’m from Shanghai and ordered delivery. Authentic and yes super flavorful! Haven’t had such tasty soup dumplings (Xiaolongbao) for years in the State. Great portion as well. The chicken I ordered is based on Shaoxin wine and I love it! Might be a bit strong for those who haven’t tried it.Highly recommend, especially if you enjoy authentic Chinese food, instead of American Chinese food.
Nice local finding Astoria. It was a slow night, only a couple of the tables. The service is quick. Food came out hot one at a time allowed me time to have some before going on to the next item. To soup dumplings were tasty and held together. The beef stew noodles had the right amount of chew and taste. Only thing I think would have made it better would be stronger hot sauce or chili oil. What they had is flavorful but not very strong. With the trip back to try some of the other stuff.
Food was great. My only problem was I got there within 30 mins of closing and had to eat in a rush and not fully savor and enjoy. But definitely will be coming back.
I put off trying this place for a while because I felt like in order to make a vegetarian meal I would have to put together several smaller dishes, but if you are in the mood for lots of small dishes, I would recommend it. I enjoyed the sesame noodles the most. I also didn't realize that they close the kitchen for an hour(?) or so at 3, but they were kind enough to accommodate my online order anyway.
Possibly the worst crispy noodle I’ve had and 100% the worst buns I’ve had.The soup buns were shriveled and the flavor was extremely lacking. I wish I stayed at home and steamed the frozen ones I had from a super market. The crispy noodles literally tasted like someone used sugar instead of salt and had no other flavor. The only saving grace was the cucumber appetizer which was deliciousness and garlicky.
The food was one dimensional. It only tasted like soy sauce and white pepper. I ordered the pan fried noodles with chicken (the noodles came deep fried and crunchy) and the chicken came separately packed and consisted of a very thick brown sauce that needed to be pored over the noodles. The udon noodles with beef tasted only like soy sauce and had very little beef and hardly any vegetables. The only two things that were tolerable were the curry beef bao and the spring rolls. I do not recommend this place. There are better and tastier Chinese food options in Astoria.
One of the best souo dumpling spots in all of New York City, but definitely don't neglect the rest of the menu; their udon and pan fried noodle dishes are very tasty, and honestly I've never had a single bad dish from them. Order whatever sounds good to you and I promise you'll enjoy it
I’m a bit disappointed. Today, I ordered the matcha sesame ball, the fried soup dumplings and the salted crispy chicken. The food would have been good if they actually served the food freshly. The food tastes like overnight food, they might have refried them. Lunch was totally ruined.
We had the pork soup dumplings and they were very good. Be mindful of their dine in hours my boyfriend and I went there at 3 and to our surprise the shop was CLOSED. We could even see someone sleeping in the hostess booth. We called and were told they don’t open till 4pm. Which I found kind of odd considering what’s posted for their hours of operation. I also had the pork buns and to me it was gross had a very off putting taste. But I guess it one of those acquired taste. Service was fast once we got inside and everyone very friendly.
