We went there again 2 weeks ago. In the past when I have gone here it was amazingly gluten free. Things were breaded with lotus flour. It was one of the few times I went to a Chinese restaurant and didn't have gluten poisoning.This time we went the menu was completely different! I get it restaurants change their menu but this was not a positive change. Nothing was marked whether it was gluten-free. I tried several times asking a waiter but apparently I was not good enough to speak to. As he hurriedly told me I could order anything with the white sauce and then ran off. Not sure What was meant by that?So after waiting another 20 minutes, they did give us a part of their delicious tea, which I had started drinking. I again tried to ask the waiter what I could eat. Again I was apparently not good enough, as this time I got eye rolls and sighs that I was taking up his time. I know right? How dare I! I mean his job is not to explain the menu or anything just collect tips apparently. He then went on to explain I could have anything on the menu I just have to have a white sauce. I told him I understand soy sauce contains gluten but what has a white sauce? He said I could have anything in the menu I would just have to ask for a white sauce. This didn't make sense as I said, "I can't order anything on the menu. For instance Mongolian beef is generally breaded and in a soy sauce."I want to point out here in the past everything had been breaded with lotus and so I could have ordered it with a white sauce. Now I can't tell what to order. And the waiter was incredibly unhelpful and treated me like a waste of time! In the past the amazing service was a reason to come back. After this very brief exchange he huffed and ran off still leaving my partner and I with questions. As we were both starving and we were done with being treated with disdain as lowly inconveniences we got up and left and went to kabob and Curry where we were treated promptly and courteously as always. This is unfortunate because in the past both my partner and I thought this to be one of the best restaurants with the best service we had ever been to. Not anymore.
Clean and friendly atmosphere. Accommodating for larger parties. Good food, finally a local place that knows how to make fried rice. Large family style portions. Has been our go-to for Chinese even though it's a 25 min drive.
This is a regular spot for us, and we have yet to be disappointed by the service or food! The place is always really clean, the staff are incredibly attentive, the portions are nicely sized, and always tastes amazing! A tad pricier than your average Chinese/Vietnamese, but definitely worth it!
Really nice place with nice atmosphere waiter was awesome. Food was good only thing I didn't like was the wonton soup tasted a little off. But besides that everything was great here
Love the Red Pepper. Great food and fantastic service. Wonderful staff. The owner Martin is Top Notch one of the best. If you are looking for great Chinese food. The Red Pepper is the place to go. Highly recommended.
Really good food. Extremely clean restaurant with friendly servers who did NOT rush us through our meal. Went for lunch with my sister to catch up and was completely satisfied with quality, flavor, service and price.
This is by far the best Chinese takeout in the buffalo area. We've tried so many places varying from just okay to downright awful. This is top tier. Sweet and sour chicken was moist and were large pieces. Egg rolls were perfect and not dried out. Amazing quality and everything was packaged very well. Highly reccomend!
*BEWARE* Good food, customer service and portion size are terrible now. Have been ordering for years and they've decided to cut corners and sh*t on their longstanding customers. Ordered take out...two quarts of vegetables stir fry for the family and they gave us a 1/2 pint of rice. When we called to ask what happened, they told us that we had it wrong and they only give a pint of rice with 2 quarts of stir fry?!! In what world, it was 2 LARGE orders. To make it worse it wasnt even a FULL pint. I believe they ran out and are cutting back and charging the same prices. What a shame, we'll find a new place to eat vegetarian stir fry.
I've ordered takeout from here about 4 times now and it has always ranged from good to great. The food has always tasted fresh or mostly fresh. The staff is always polite and attentive when we enter. We get in and out quickly, the dining room looks clean and aesthetically pleasing, it seems like the owner takes pride in his restaurant. Great place.
Fantastic food! Best Chinese I’ve ever had and I love their Chicken Lo Mein!If you order through Grub Hub they hike up the prices so it’s better to place and order and pick up yourself! You can eat in but I’m staying away until COVID is under control!!!
