What a delightful experience we had in the Mughal Palace we we were greeted by the chef in person and what a GREAT CHEF he is . The food really tasted soooo good . We have tried indian/pakistani food in LA, Bay area ,Seattle but Gosh what you try here is really something else !!. It went beyond our expectations , everything is mouthwatering from appetizer to the dessert ( we were offered desert and what a nice gesture from the owner ) . Highly recommend this restaurant if you want to spoil your taste buds ?
06/01/2022We were looking for an Indian restaurant and came across this place. We were greeted happily as we entered and given our choice of table and not rushed at all to make our dinner selection. The host/server was extremely pleasant and kind. The chef even made his way through the dining area and was very friendly and even shared a bit of history about the origin of our meal which was absolutely amazing! We will definitely be eating here again.
The food was everything the owners said.....it was fresh. The spices were awesome. I was with two clients from Bangladesh. We each loved everything made here. I tried it all and highly recommend all.
We went there for dinner and we were the only people in there. I could not understand why because the host was lovely to talk to and the food was so good! I hope they get the exposure they deserve.
Oh my goodness - AMAZING! We stayed in Albany for 4 nights and found Mughals on day one. Did not expect to eat here every evening but the food was SO GOOD we just had to make the most of this experience. We eat a lot of Indian food (we travel a lot) and this has to be the tastiest authentic Indian food I’ve had in a long time. The establishment is very unassuming but my goodness they can cook. Delicate layers of spices create a harmonious flavour - no matter the spice level you choose. This food is authentic, tasty, good sized portions and just all-round delicious. The owner, staff and chefs are all really nice people.10 stars!!!
As a vegetarian it can be difficult to find restaurants while traveling but it’s always easy to find veg options at Indian restaurants. On a recent trip to Albany we looked on Yelp and this one was the highest rated so we decided to go there. When we entered there were only two other tables seated but it was early ish for dinner (around 6pm). We ordered and were blown away by the food. It wasn’t the usual oil-laden over-salted restaurant food that I usually see. The portions were also appropriate. The chef/owner (Tahir Mahmood) came out to meet us and was so nice. He showed me his spice mixture that he makes himself with something like 30 different spices. Will definitely return when I go back to Albany! I hope all the locals find this gem!
So glad this gem opened up in the neighborhood! The flavor is top-notch, the food is fresh and tasty! I feel nourished every time I eat the food here. The lunch buffet is an amazing deal and a must. I’ve ordered veg. manchurian and really enjoyed their take on the dish. Be warned, extra spicy means the addition of real chilies and house-made chili sauce!
I believe this is THE BEST Indian food I've ever had. We are so lucky to have this in Albany. Great hours, super friendly, and so so so delicious. Okra can be hard to find, I was so happy to see it on the menu.
My partner and I came for the lunch buffet and it was delicious! We had wonderful conversations with the chefs. The place was also very homey and warm, which perfectly blended with the ridiculously great homemade food the buffet offered at a very nice $11 price. My partner and I will come back here sometime soon and y'all should too.
One of the best restaurants in Albany , not only they have amazing food but the owner and chef are just beyond amazing. We drove out of state and were hungry , so my wife googled the nearest Indian restaurant and came across Mughal palace. Restaurant was not busy since it’s was almost closing time , one of the owners welcome us with a warm smile and seated us. Owner went thru the menu and personally recommended few dishes and we loved every bite of it. The chef ( is also one of the owners ) also came out and chatted with us regarding the food and I was amaze to find out that he’s been cooking since 1980’s. As I said earlier this has to be one of the best Indian / Pakistani restaurants regarding the food BUT the owners hospitality takes the cake. This is our go to spot anytime we are visiting Albany.
