Their food was decent but way overpriced. $23 for chicken fried rice that was mostly rice and $3 to add an egg (you can buy a dozen eggs for less than $3). Then they charged our table over $12 for using a credit card. Unreal... The waitress was inattentive as well, especially for a slow Saturday night. I had to get up and go to the bar to order drinks. Too many other restaurants in the area to visit. I also notice this place was pretty dead for prime seating time on a Saturday night... wonder why.
Customer is always wrong at this place. So, great if you're happy to take anything they put in front of you at $30-40 a plate and enjoy some gaslighting-with-a-smile in case of any misunderstanding (which can happen when descriptions are missing from the menu, standard plates aren't prepared in a standard way, and your server isn't informed). Cocktails were good, but yeah, can't be providing diner-like service at those prices. "Pretentious" seems accurate based on our experience.
We had a delicious dinner in this intimate and attractive space. A very interesting Italian-Asian fusion menu had a lot of interesting options to try, so choosing our entrees was tough! My drunken noodles were delicious and hubby was really happy with his seared salmon. We'll be back!
Overall the food was good but it was really overpriced! The portions were small and food was good but not exceptional. You can get same quality food and drinks for much cheaper. The atmosphere was beautiful but I can’t see myself coming here again with my husband just based on prices.
Some of the best food, I’ve had in years. Attention to detail was top notch. The service even better, the manager came out and gave us a shot on the house. Gracious servers and bartenders. This place is 10/10
Great spot with even better food. They actually know how to make an old fashioned. Filet mignon was perfect. It’s a shame lark street doesn’t have more to do, I’d love to see more businesses attract people to these lovely restaurants. Will definitely back.
We had a valentines dinner date here and it was impeccable. Amazing drink offers with top-notch food and a relaxing, attentive environment.
Had some after work cocktails and food with a friend and we were not disappointed. The decor is SUPER cute and service was prompt and friendly. We ordered a few appetizers and a main to share. Bang bang shrimp, pork belly bao buns, and the meatballs were delish! We also tried the short ribs main which was great, but the mashed potatoes fell a little flat. We had several cocktails, but our favorite was a special called a pumpkin pie martini- YUM.I'd definitely return and look forward to my next visit.
Classic dishes (I'm talking literally steak and potatoes), from high quality ingredients, updated with a light touch, served cheerfully, in a smartly renovated and easygoing space. The owner, Mary, is attentive as well. It's great to see places like this coming out strong post-pandemic.
As I am already a die-hard fan of Lark Street Poké Bar and LAX, The Loft @205 completely adds the cherry on top. The Loft is nothing short of wonderful. Every single staff member treats their customers like family, especially Olivia. Olivia constantly has a smile on her face, takes care of all customers and knows how to make sure everyone is enjoying their time there to the fullest. The menu is filled with a variety of delights. Once the food hits the table, in a timely fashion might I add, the dish itself is nothing but colorful and tasteful. I have never had to send a meal back. If anything, I’ve ordered something different each time! The staff are all well versed in what each dish has to offer, making decisions on what to eat much easier for those who just can’t decide! The ambiance is wonderful accompanied by music to fit any occasion. Perfect location to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, date night, etc. This is by far my most favorite place Albany has to offer. Hats off to the owners, staff members and all those who contributed in building this wonderful addition to Lark Street.
