We were staying at the Springhill Suites nearby and good places to eat in the immediate vicinity were not readily apparent. We found Ralph’s Tavern on the internet and headed over there. We were very pleased to find a very busy but pleasant and friendly locals’ eatery. Their menu provides a good variety of choices at reasonable prices. My husband and daughter both ordered scallops and I had a house side salad with grilled chicken. The scallop dinner portions were quite large. I had some of my husband’s scallops and they were delicious, as was my grilled chicken. Ralph’s also had many dessert options. We ordered slices of chocolate, lemon, and apple cake to go. We ate them the next day and they were delicious. The service was excellent. I highly recommend Ralph’s for travelers to Albany.
I have been ordering from Ralph’s all through covid and have eaten there for at least 15 years. Today I picked up a to go order. My salad and blue dressing dressing and bread was not included in the bag. I ordered a spaghetti dinner and that is included in it. My son ordered crispy wings the wings were soggy. After coming all the way home and going all the way back there they would not give me the food because I forgot to bring the wings back. They never gave me my salad or bread which I had already paid for. Not a very good practice for a loyal customer.

I ordered for take out and I’m so upset. This fettuccine Alfredo has absolutely no freaking flavor!!!It just taste like wet noodles. Highly disappointed. Never going here again if you’re thinking about ordering this pasta please think again. Don’t even get me started on this so called salad. Not even a tomato in sight. Just iceberg lettuce.
Susie our waitress in bar seating was superb/ awesome. Butternut squash soup yummy, pickles addictive, Husband really liked the meatball sub/torpedo
Food is absolutely AMAZING. If you have not been to Ralph's you are seriously missing out on some of the best food you've ever had. Best wings in the area and I have literally tried them all. Big statement I know, but Ralph's will back it up! Very friendly staff as well.
I’m batting zero when ordering from Delivery Apps.. it seems these restaurants don’t care about quality if they don’t have to face a customer. Ralph’s Tavern is no exception. Pushing poor quality food out the door to delivery customers, missing items and not following instructions. Who gives a side of pasta with no sauce or seasoning of any type? Just cooked and drained pasta!! Yeah thanks for the bread with my pasta, I’ll be sure to dip that in the dry cooked pasta. And where are my stuffed mushrooms?!
I’d give them -5 if I could. I have been a customer of Ralph’s for 30 years. I placed a take out for my birthday for the prime rib. It was awful. Overcooked, excessively salty, and tough. When I called to tell them this, they insisted the food was picked up late and that’s why if was overcooked. At least, they admitted it was overcooked. I told them it was picked up on time then I was put on hold then disconnected. This restaurant has really declined. I will not order from there again.
I ordered from this restaurant for the first time. The linguine and white clam sauce was one of the worst meals I’ve had in the past few years. It tasted like the linguini was cooked in butter sauce with no salt, garlic or white wine. I would suggest a refresher course in that particular dish, or take it off the menu. I had another pasta with marinara sauce, and fried calamari, both which were decent.
Great service, love the atmosphere!Italian American cuisine, made with love, you can tell. The only complaint was one my wife had. The cheese on the chick parm had a different kind of smell. She thought it was odd like cream cheese or maybe american cheese mixed with the mozzarella but she thought it tasted normal.I reheated her leftovers and I smelled it, it didn't smell off, just different.I suspect there was some sort of Italian /caso or maybe bocconcini cheese mixed in? It could be it's just a homemade, fresh mozzarella and or parmesan?Tasted great, so IMO they didn't do anything wrong. Infact, it was the best chicken parm I've had in a long time!
