Middle Eastern Falafel Salad

I've been eating here for I think close to 10 years now, which I think speaks for itself. Quite possibly the best hummus, and easily the best Baba Ghanouj to be found anywhere. Amazing falafel. The Bourani and Tawouk are others I order regularly - but honestly I have never had a single item from here that wasn't excellent. A great place to dine in as well. Comfortable and intimate atmosphere and the service is always great. If you aren't eating here, you should be

I have been craving falafel from the city since I moved to Albany. I gotta say, Mamouns is hands down the best falafel I’ve had in my life. You can taste the freshness in the ingredients - the herbs in my falafel were so bright & delicious. The chicken was seasoned just right & tzatziki was on point. Couldn’t resist the home made baklava & halva on the counter so we brought some home and we’re not disappointed. The baklava was perfectly flaky & filled with delicious roasted spiced nuts. The halva literally melts in your mouth. The food is amazing, will definitely recommend to friends. The owner seemed genuine and kind & the inside of the restaurant is beautiful. You will not be disappointed eating here!

they cater to a specific group of people let’s just say that POC is not on that list. very rude, wants you out of the restaurant before you could even say hello. i honestly don’t know how they’re still in business… would not recommend.

Some of the best food you’ll find in Albany!!

They have the best falafel in the area. They have a variety of other Middle Eastern dishes. They don't have indoor dining during the pandemic but this is a great place to go to take out. The staff are very friendly. This is in Albany institution.

Just had the lamb shish kabob sandwich and the combination sampler and they were delicious! So happy to find this place in Albany

Tucked away on Washington Avenue is Mamoun's Falafel, a real find for authentic Mediterranean cuisine in central Albany. I ordered the combination platter and a Turkish coffee to go. The platter was amazing - a large heaping of hummus, smooth and creamy with lots of lemony freshness and a real pitted olive and carrot stick dropped in for contrast, side-by-side with a smokey baba ghanouj, both easily dipped with the warm pita wrapped in foil. There were two balls of felafel and two grape leaves sitting on top of a large, fresh salad. The felafel was crispy but not dry, with plenty of flavor. The grape leaves were the perfect size to pop into your mouth with a nice balance of flavor and texture from the rice, leaves and olive oil. The salad was bright, fresh, and crunchy. It seemed like enough for two people, but I ate the whole thing easily.Drinking Turkish coffee from a paper cup is like drinking wine from a shoe, but it was still worth it. Dark, hot, and bitter, with all manner of tiny grinds resting at the bottom of the cup, Mamoun's Turkish coffee hit the spot and was a perfect counter-punch to the combination platter. If you have a craving for Mediterranean, Mamoun's is the perfect lunch. I will definitely be visiting Mamoun's again, and you should too! Next time, that baklava under glass has my name on it...

Great vegetarian options. Amazing falafel and hummus. So much better than the store bought stuff. And the staff is very nice. Good food for a good price.

1st time. Friendly folks, but Pita sandwiches NOT good, especially the Kofta Kebob, and neither were grape leaves. Maybe a fluke, but it was rough

Walked in the owner was dismissive and very rude. Would not recommend eating here.
