Really happy that other people from downstate agree that this is the best Latin food places in the capital region. Growing up downstate, the variety of food & cultures were endless. My boyfriend and I were walking around the mall where we found this place after wanting juice from Orange Julius but no one was there. We stumbled upon this place where I saw they had passionfruit juice & tamarind juice on tap. Get the pernil, you won’t regret it. The woman smiled when she asked me if I wanted some of the crispy skin and I said yes PLEASE! The juices are incredible. Way better than Orange Julius haha. We must protect this place at all cost. Hope they open a spot on this side of the river here in Rensselaer, soon. This place is the only reason I’ll even go to crossgates anymore.
Absolutely delicious food!! Had the beef stew and shrimp seafood salad. Amazing, to say the least!! 5 stars!!!
I eat here every time i go to the mall the food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Love this place
Hands down best Puerto Rican food in the capital region. Too bad they're hidden in the mall. Wish they'd get more attention from customers. I've visited a couple of times and wish i could eat here more often. So far my husband and i have tried the pasteles with white rice and a side of beans, the pernil with yellow rice and recently had their mofongo with Carne frita. All of which make my homesick taste buds dance and sing. Wash it down with a Kola Champagne and you're set!I'm a Chicago native and have struggled the last several years without some good home cooking. This place really hits the spot. One thing I will note is the empanadas we had were not the greatest. But the solution? Try something else! Explore the menu! I can't wait to try more items on their menu.
Nice food, plenty of roombeween tables. I welcome change from the noise and sameness of the food coart.
Server seems upset when asked if dishes have meat. Pollo pescatarian here! Staff member could be more pleasant and friendly!
We thought we'd be adventurous and try some Latino Cuisine, support a local business. To our dismay we were treated very poorly while we asked with mouthwatering curiosity what the items were. The woman made it clear she wasn't interested in serving us, assuming maybe because we were not Latin, otherwise we were dressed nicely out for Christmas shopping. The store was dead so that should have been our first clue, her lack of interest should have been our second but we pushed on and ordered a few different empenadas. Once again we were let down as the empenadas were dry and very hard. I walked back up to the counter and explained to the woman and gentleman that they were very hard, she just walked over to the counter wrapped another one up and handed it to me, mind you I ordered more than one. I asked if this was fresh as I hadn't seen any more food brought out, she said yes obviously knowing she sold us older food. Needless to say they were slightly fresher but still dry, hard and tasteless. I just left at that point since I feared a less than desired racial barrier response. Fearing for our safety, we just left.We wonder why racial tensions are getting out of hand, look no further than those creating them by putting up barriers that can't be broken. It could have all gone a different way but they chose the path for no understandable reason.
I moved from Puerto Rico about 4 years ago and since then I have been looking for the perfect Mofongo con carne frita & Latinos Cousine exceeded all my expectations. The Food was so so Good. Definetly will recomend. And There pulpo was just AMAZING.
I just ate there today, people serving were talking and laughing over food while serving without their mask on. I bought empanadas and surullitos and they tasted stale, cold and they looked like they were in the warmer for hours. Never again will I stop here, rather buy ingredients and make at home.
I wish their was a 0 star option is just a hot messNo system what so ever try to ask a question and tell me hold on and serve two other customers that was there before me never will they ever get my $
