Endearing to the nth degree, this capricious cantina hails from the days of yore… Of forest majik and thimbles of elderberry wine and jovial Legit storyteller Lore… Unabashedly ‘TexMex’ (which indicates a distinctly Americanized mélange rather than Mexican in its form most traditional-cultured to a T. And, highhhhh possibility nary a single soul would feel any qualms about this piquant proclivity. For so simply, the mouth-watering morsels and naughty noshes imbibe an utterly unique aromatherapy and palette-bud enveloping wave of sine— saliently satisfied… from the sparkly ether to tender tummy special delivery, warm and fuzzy and hugged… from the inside. A jovial mojo, don’t cha know.???A curious-cat kind of spirit, indeed, is sure to find their path meandering merrily into this happy haunt, spontaneously… sure to soon be soundly nourished & mystically full.Oh, and: the staff— shiva me timbaahsss; exquisitely welcoming & whirled, I dare say even beyond the wavelengths of the ultimate Los Dias de Los Muertos , homeslice ; )Mmmmmm doze sneaky little chimichangas, so luscious and spry… they can cheese-Run but they can’t hide.?????
I’m not sure why this place has as many stars as it does.. the only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because I was able to choke 1 and a half tacos down.. but don’t get me wrong.. i didn’t enjoy it. I paid $16 for 3 tacos (pictured) and I swear I don’t know how they pass this off as authentic Mexican.. If I wanted a bland taco with Walmart ingredients I could have done it myself. I should have gone to Taco bell and gotten better quality for so much less. Has the be the LEAST authentic Mexican food in Albany.
El Loco is a family favorite for an evening out. All fresh ingredients and very friendly staff. Tasty margaritas and Sangria. Wifey enjoys the mexican pizza with a chips and queso starter. #3 son enjoyed a chimichanga and i enjoyed a Ancho-Chipotle Chicken and Spinach Enchiladas. All hot and delicious.
A downtown Albany must! I no longer live in the area but come every time to visit. Wait staff is super friendly and they have a great gluten free menu. Frozen margaritas are the best I’ve ever had!

I could never say enough good things about El Loco! It's been at least a decade since my first visit and every margarita and every order of Nachos Fantasticos has truly been my favorite. The owner and his staff are like a family and always happy to serve downtown Albany their own delicious brand of Tex-Mex. My only complaint is that there's only one of them!
