I need to say even though it was lunch that I had here I was very impressed with the taste and freshness of the food served here. I can’t imagine how much better dinner service is. I’ll find out soon enough. I got my moneys worth. Only one complaint. The servers were running around like chickens without their heads. Maybe because it was so busy. I don’t know but that’s all good. Loved my meal. The pic is only one of two plates I had because you can’t get everything the first time around lol.
Ate there Memorial Day with my two sisters. Plenty of food but all mediocre. Would like to have seen some green vegetables. Neat. Clean.. Attentive staff.
We've always enjoyed visiting here until today. I felt that we were being harassed, rushed, constantly bugged to see if they could take our plates before we were done, asked at least 10 times to refill a beverage that was not even half gone, and then, when I did not put a tip on the bill before signing the receipt I was harassed and told continuously why I should leave a tip. Are you flipping kidding me??! The woman who took the receipt back was practically blocking us from getting out of our chairs! I finally asked her if she wanted me to take it back to the register. That's when she finally relented and just took it. We will have to find a new buffet place. I cannot believe how rude they were today! It's a real shame because there is a nice variety of foods and we do as I said usually enjoy the place immensely. Oh well, I guess we will be using the Asian Tea House (117 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer) more often as their home-cooked meals actually cost about the same and we end up having leftovers for the next 2 days.
I have dined here a few times with varying experiences, but after my most recent trip in April 2022, I won't be back. The food has gone from mediocre to terrible.They are clearly cutting costs and cutting corners. They need a Health Inspector to visit unannounced. Items which should be hot are tepid at best, and the white fish they subbed out for the salmon filets tasted gamey and spoiled. The salads and cold items are not chilled enough. The shrimp are not cleaned properly and are overcooked. The mussels were rubbery, the fried chicken was overcooked and caked in grease. The mei fun was underdone. The black intestinal tract was visible in all the shrimp and some still had bits of shell and legs attached. There was some breaded fried item which was completely mislabeled and it tasted like a fried ball of breadcrumbs, clearly intended as a low cost filler for patrons to choke down.Plus the price went up, again, and dinner pricing starts at 3 p.m.That's a bit ridiculous because there is always a lag in their putting out the dinner menu items. Cleanliness is becoming an issue with dirty plates, dirty silverware, chipped and cracked glasses, and even dirty seats and tables. The fact that I was sick afterward did not speak well for the total experience. I won't give them a return visit and will continue cooking more and more at home.
We ate in, everything was good .... a little pricey, $75 and change after all the add ons- apparently drinks are not included, for example, for 4 people. Otherwise, I have no complaints. I'd recommend ??
Be careful sitting at table B11. A COCKROACH fell on our table on the soy sauce & napkins area at table B11 today about 4pm 04/14/22. Then the waitress complained to my husband she didn’t get tipped. Well next instead of killing the cockroach myself with the napkin I did that fell on the table where people eat Ill tell him to tip you next time. By the way it’s the industries fault they don’t pay you a living wage not the customer. And no tipping isn’t required. Also if customers were allowed to get their own soda I would & scrape my plates we would. It’s not hard. Rude customer service. Next time I’ll show the cockroach that fell on my table to all the customers eating at your restaurant that should be shut down by DOH. This is the second time or more customers have found cockroaches. Also at least half the food was cold that was sitting out for hours. So sense you want to be rude & have BUGS in place if I had the time I would report this place. Also half the plates are dirty & food stuck on them still & I felt sick to my stomach after leaving. Never going back. Worse experience I ever had. Not worth it. You guys are LUCKY you’re haven’t hit shut down yet. Count your days. Ridiculous. Rude. NEVER returning. Good luck! I pray more people don’t get sick. It looks clean from a far but it’s not. BEWARE!!!!
Great place to eat if you like puking your dinner up a half hour later. Reading the other reviews is the. All the good reviews are from local guides. So I guess they get free food for five stars . the Health department. Must get paid to let you be open.
Their food was pretty good but I'm not a big fan of seafood & there were many choices of seafood if you are. Their won ton soup noodles were a little small but the broth was good so you just take more wontons. The prices were about the same as others. It was clean & the staff ware nice.
Had really high hopes for this place. Looked like a nice gem find at first, good staff, good service, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. However my good time ended when I got back home and was glued to the toilet throwing up for hours. The food literally gave me food poisoning. I’m disappointed. Won’t be going back here sadly.
The place was ok in my opinion. A good selection of food. However, the food is scattered in 4 different areas leaving you to search all those areas for what you're looking for, rather than grouping related foods together. Also, I expected the food to at least be warm, but it was all cold.
