A perfect place to eat on a nice day. Their patio seating is gorgeous and creates a beautiful atmosphere with shade. The salmon was phenomenal but their guac and salsa had 0 flavor. I recommend skipping that.Great drinks and great menu. Expect a wait.
I’m glad I did not listen to the negative reviews on this place. Every dish we had was delicious! I had the grilled shrimp it was fantastic, the salmon Caesar salad was out of this world and was such a huge portion we could not finish it. The guys had a beef burrito and another specialty dish- and they loved it!The drinks were fantastic, the service was warm, welcoming, and very quick and on point. Our reservation was at 5, and we ate outdoors. Our server was Zacciah, and he was absolutely the best.Do yourself a favor and make a reservation!!
We ate lunch here based on the recommendation from our tour guide. She said to come early since the place gets packed past. She was right. When we arrived about 11:30, the last courtyard table was taken by the couple in front of us, so we had to sit inside. All tables were taken and there was a considerable wait line when we left about 12:30. Service was prompt and courteous. We had the following and our 1-5 rating was: 5 - Beef burrito smothered in green sauce. Fantastic and spiced to the right level. 5 - Enchiladas. My wife liked it but thought it was too spicey. She still gave it a 5 since she did not tell the waiter the spice level she wanted. The only drawback was that the prices were on the high side. But they are located around the plaza and there are few cheap places within a block of it.
OK carne avodado, ok hamburger. expensive for what you get. very friendly, fast service. probably will not return.

I must begin by saying the service was wonderful. The reservation system was odd but we were able to get in at 5:00 which was fine with us as we were hungry. I had the verde chicken enchiladas and my husband had the burrito. Both dishes at best were mediocre. Very unremarkable!! We have eaten at better places that were chains. The margaritas were also not great. On top of not having a great meal, the tab was $100 not counting the tip. I guess the Shed has become an institution and people visiting Santa Fe like us think it is one of the top places to eat. I wish I had gotten a heads up about the food as I am giving those reading this review.. Truly it is not worth the hassle of trying to get a reservation and the quality of the food was very disappointing!! If you want good Mexican food, this is not the place!! Katy Today 8/1/2022
Part of our group wanted to go elsewhere when they saw the line out to the street, but we suggested we put our names on the waitlist anyway. They told us it would be 30 minutes. And it was 30 minutes. We were seated promptly in a fairly quiet room & our wait person appeared almost immediately. Everything was served promptly & correctly. It was all so good. And our server was very attentive, bringing us more chips & drink refills. We could not have been more pleased.
This restaurant remains a pleasure. The rambling hacienda, the friendly but not fawning service, and the tasty food are constants. There is almost always a wait, but you can wander around old Santa Fe while you wait for your call. The bar is very good too, and I ordered an excellent high-end margarita while we waited. On this visit, the carne adovada was a new dish to me--New Mexican, not Mexican, in style, and scrumptious. It was spicy, but just to my taste with deep red chile flavor (probably not appealing to Europeans). Our waitress was so efficient, but also ready for a conversation about New Mexican cuisine at the end of our meal--mostly how you can't really get it in Colorado, and we agreed.
You would think when visiting such an iconic city, everything would be great in the food category. The menu is not very big and the food itself is so-so. The servers were not as attentive as I would have expected either. To be fair, I would try it again as they may have just had an off day.
Great place to eat while in Santa Fe. Located near the plaza, The Shed offers some of the best New Mexican food in the area. Although their prices are bit high and it's kind of touristy the food is good. I always have the enchiladas with both red and green sauce. They have great outdoor seating and fun indoor seating within a very old building with all the charm expected from an old Santa Fe building. I highly recommend.
