Heading out to Santa Fe one of the places we read about a lot was Shake Foundation. It was early in the day when we visited so we did not want the whole burger, fries and a shake meal, instead we opted for fries and a shake. The fries are all hand cut and fresh fried, while not a top ten fry they certainly were very good. The shake on the other hand was a top ten shake. Both were sizable portions and next time we’ll likely go shake only unless it is later in the day and we have gotten our full workout in! Yes, their food isn’t light, but you know what you are getting when you visit and there is nothing wrong with a midday cookies and cream shake and an order of fries to carry you towards your next meal!
Probably one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had. I had some fries while waiting for the burger and they either tasted burnt or like straight up oil. I ordered the Chile verde burger and was excited to try it once it finally came. It was not spicy and each bite was more disappointing than the last. The meat had zero flavor and tasted like water…. Yes water…. Had no flavor or seasoning. All of the flavor came from the mayo and ketchup I had to manually add. Do not recommends. Trash
Who doesn't like a picnic setting with burgers and shakes? What to know:- Parking lots on both sides- No table service, order and pick up when your buzzer rings- No table umbrellas, some shade dependong on when you visit- Burgers have no sauce, ask for mayo, mustard, etc on the side (shake sauce you have to ask for)- Probably need a double patty- Fries are kind of like in & out style, so so- Milkshakes are OK, not amazing- Burger patty could be seasoned a bit betterGood place to grab a basic burger and fries. Nice atmosphere to dine outside.
This place gave me all the feels of a traditional walk-up burger stand! But then it gets better - I had the Green Chile Cheeseburger but upgraded to a lamb patty and added cooked onion, tomatoes and lettuce - perfect. The bun is a potato bun so it stands up to the task but it's still soft and lovely.I also got an order of fries - don't forget to ask for salt. (Burger needed salt too, I take no points off for needing salt, everyone has different tastes)Unfortunately I was quite full so I didn't order any ice cream but I went back the next day to get a scoop of the lavender.I'm so glad I did! It's a soft ice cream with just enough lavender to know it's there but very easy to eat the whole scoop. As a kid I loved Blue Moon ice cream and this seems to be the grown up version of that! Loved it!
The burger is simply light, delicious and not greasy. They don't add salt to the patty which makes it even better. The fries are thin and not too oily. Price is great. Check it out if you are visiting Santa Fe.
Pricey but worth it. Beautifully cooked burgers and we saw a tub of russet potatoes in the kitchen so you know the fries are cut fresh on site. The chili was good, but their warning signs on display about it being very hot were not warranted the day we stopped there. Great burgers and great shakes. If we visit Santa Fe again we would totally eat here again.
Visiting from out of town, a friend introduced us to Shake Foundation. This is an outdoor, take-out style restaurant, where one dines on picnic benches. The milkshakes were truly a highpoint - among the best that I've had anywhere, with a wide variety of flavors, well beyond the typical options. I had a banana shake, which was exceptional; another member of our party had a lavender shake, which tasted more like vanilla than lavender. (The subtler flavors might not be the way to go.) The french fries were also a hit with us - very tasty, though highly greasy. The burgers/sandwiches, the mainstay of the menu, were hit and miss. I had a decent, but not exceptional, beyond burger. Another member of our party had a chicken sandwich that was OK, but not great. It seems that the quality of the burgers/sandwiches depends on what one orders. FYI, the vegetarian sandwich options were surprisingly sparse - only the beyond burger and a portabella sandwich option; this is not typical in Santa Fe, and it also limited what I could personally order.
This place is excellent. Way better than In N Out burger could ever hope to be, their burgers are second to few. If you want a fast tasty burger, come here.Be weary of their fries though. They are almost as awful as In N Out burger’s. Not quite, it’s somewhat hard to surpass the worst fries on the planet (in n out). They do load them into your bag with a dump truck tho, akin to Five Guys. so be weary if you order them. The green chilis on the burgers CAN be spicy so be weary if you’re from other states and have a tolerance to spicy that of the likes of a new born child. They have fantastic shakes and ice cream as well. Well worth a stop if you want a good fast food burger.
The food was delicious! The atmosphere was that of a 60s burger joint which is cool. There is no indoor seating. So during winter it's best to do a pick up order. The only downside here was the cashier wasn't so friendly or welcoming. But the line cooks and main cook did a great job at getting the food out in a jif. The fries are amazing. I'd go again, definitely. If you love meat, go for a double.
Recommended this place by the friends. We ordered double green chile burgers, fries. Fries were good, needed salt. Burgers were not as described on the website, the meat was gristly and had bones in it, the patties were very small so there was no possibility of being cooked medium as also described online. The meat was just not great, no flavor. No homemade mustard either. Not a bad burger , just lack luster. I really wish when they take your order online they didn’t read the cc # out loud multiple times. Some discretion would be nice. Maybe three stars? I’ll come back, but maybe after I try some other spots.
