The best pasole… ever. It’s a must stop when you’re in SF!
Came from Colorado for a Santa Fe visit and it was highly recommended from friends and of course TV shows, so we gave it try and it was well worth the hype! Great service and delicious food! Table side guacamole was fresh and tasty. The salsa was spicy and super flavorful. Loved my taco plate (with ground beef).
Was a beautiful evening celebrating my better half! They made his birthday pretty special for us! Thank you y'all! We love the new addition in the back! Beautiful decorations! Love the outdoor patio, too bad it was full and we couldn't fit! Being next to the door was the next best thing. Too bad the phone service doesn't really get in the back area tho. Oh well we were there to eat and enjoy but since it was a birthday celebration ?? we were hoping to post some pictures but had to wait until we left because the service doesn't get in the back Adobe area. This restaurant has plenty of room! Staff was nice and helpful! No one was rude and the establishment was clean! All employees were wearing they're protective gear, masks, ECT. The parking is a little hidden in the back but shaded! They have a nice wide variety of options on the menu!
There are lots of places to eat in Santa Fe that are very good. With only one night this trip we wanted something you don't typically get at a Mexican restaurant but that Maria's is famous for. The incredible spare ribs, which is something I do not normally eat, but these are excellent. And the Margaritas...yes the Margaritas. We both chose the Horn Toad and it was good thing we were walking back to our hotel.
Glass of Merlot was undrinkable, sent it back. Waiter ignored wife's instructions not to put chicken in enchilada. My wife is convinced those were the worst enchiladas she's had in a state that prides itself in making them When she asked the waiter to deduct the $2.50 charged for the chicken, he got annoyed and said he couldn't do that, and repeated twice she should not give him a tip. But he came back with the $2.50 removed. Rest of food was pedestrian, dozens of places in town are better. The slide in cuisine and service, mentioned often here, is more like a crash. Maybe this is just a tax write-off for the wealthy owner and he doesn't care. Buyer beware.
We went to Maria's for dinner and were excited about the margarita's. The margarita's were excellent and a but pricey at about $14. We had a variety of foods for dinner and there was no flavor, no spice. What a disappointment. The service was excellent.
Last nights dinner was fantastic. I got to Maria’s and I was blown away by all cars in the parking lot. I was very luck to find a parking spot quickly at my secret spot.I got in and sat and wait for my party. Turns out there was another tall blond gal that overheard me talking to the hostess about my party. The tall blond gal asked me if my name was John. I was like, “no John here”. My friend texts me and tells me that the tall blond girl is part of our party. It was a dinner of six strangers.What a blast. We all ordered one of Santa Fe’s favorite drinks, the Silver Coin Margarita because Los Foodies Magazine has a recipe that ranks number one on Google search results. The drink was outstanding.I know what I wanted for dinner. I had the lovely Chicken Tostadas Compuestas con Pollo. 2 flat, crispy corn tortillas, filled with chicken, cheese and guacamole, served with a side of pico de gallo. It was it off this world. I guess because I hadn’t eaten at Maria’s in a while. I cannot wait to go back!
Once again (should've known better) to give this spot another chance. Confirmed now that Santa Fe has much better options! Food overpriced, drinks WAY overpriced and service average. Advice, search for other options, Santa Fe and the surrounding areas have much better options!
Fry bread tasted deep fried, little oily.Food not memorable.Little noisy, hard to communicate with 9 at our table.Prices are reasonable , portions good.Food on neutral side, not exceptional tastes.R&Bs were not memorable.Server & service was quite good!Glad we went & value was good.
