The restaurant is situated in a small alley next to a pizza shop. There is a tiny outdoor eating area which did not look very clean. We ate a late inside instead in one of their torn leather seat booths. This restaurant was recommended to us at the local travel office. We ordered lunch steak fajitas. The meat and peppers were burnt. The beans were mushy and not well prepared. The price was reasonable at $8.50. The service was slow and disinterested. It was a late lunch. I had already eaten and ordered a side steak tostada at $3.90. The waiter brought the wrong item: a taco salad with ground beef & beans. He asked if I would be willing to take it instead at the tostada price. However we were charged $8.50. The salad too was fine. It was a basic lettuce salad. Fresh. The bottom was terrible. Mushy beans with some hamburger. I wish I had just stuck to the top salad tostada part. The small amount of the wet mushy meat bean mix made me feel I’ll. So poor cleanliness. Poor ambience. Poor service. Poor food satisfaction. I would not return. My husband said they offer one margarita. He’d give it a 3 out of 5. Adequate.
Walking back from the Georgia O’Keefe museum we were drawn to this location by the beautiful sounds of the Guitarist playing on the patio. Small patio in the shade of the surrounding buildings but ample enough for 8 tables. We just had the margaritas and guacamole which were wonderful - don’t miss these when you stop in. Fantastic way to spend a beautiful spring Saturday afternoon.
Great food and a huge choice! Loved the decor, which was really fun and colourful. The quesadilla's were so tasty and I couldn't get enough of the refried beans! Lost a star as the service was really slow, despite it not being that busy and the first server we encountered was quite rude. Our next waiter was so lovely though.
Good place to have a dinner. Chicken tortilla soup was great and shrimp fajitas. Special thanks for our waiter, man with gray hair, for his great service. Looking forward to come back to Santa Fe and visit this place again!
Probably the best Mexican food we have ever had. Locally owned, not flashy, but great food and service. Definitely on our return list.
Great food, loved the veggie fajitas.
Great service and great food!
Walking thru Burro Alley on Saturday night.. most restraunts booked.. it was only 6:00 pm.. ran into these folks.. and after much allergy deliberations.. mostly in Spanish.. we gave them a try .. WE didn not know there was Charles Tichner's caberet playing on Fridays and Saturdays.. !!! WE go to Mexico a lot -2-3 times for a month .. there are never problems with food allergies there because they make it all fresh.. and usually sin ajo ( no garlic ) that was not possible here .. plus got charged for Corn Tortillas when they were supposed to come with the meal... Margarita was nothing to write home about.. but we stayed and stayed because Charles is so great at getting people to silly things.. even me.. and others to sing amazingly well. WE would go back for Charles.. not so much for the food. My shrimp Fajitas were very good.. but the meu is far to aggressive to produce good food all the way down the line. Remember they are a Mexican restaurant.. not a Northern New Mexico Mexican.. there is a difference.
Food was great. The pianist singer Charlie for the live music is pretty good. This is my first time seeing Mexican dish cooked with tomatos and everywhere else should do the same because that was fantastic. Service slightly too casual but it is not a big deal. Our waiter is a young lady, spoke very quickly, but knows the menu well.
Really good food at a decent price in Santa Fe. Everyone in our group liked the food they got.
