I had a great experience for late lunch. Waiter shared with me which fish were super fresh that day & I got sushi. Beautiful presentation. Small, relaxed, booth seating. Within a mini-mall. Not fancy. Easy parking.
No chance of getting food here if they don't like the look of you. We were sat fairly promptly, and then never returned to again. Not with closed menus, friendly smiles, or any other basic ways to attract attention. Staff made several rounds going table to table ignoring us until we had enough. Goodbye $100 sushi tab for Kai!
Wow. Me and my wife visited around 1:30 Friday afternoon ready to scarf down some sushi. Waiter cleaned a booth and sat us fairly promptly, which we thanked him for. We looked at the menu for about 5 minutes while the waiter passed us by without so much as a word. After a few more minutes we thought we should close our menus to make sure they knew we wanted to order. Didn't have much of an effect, as the waiter spoke to each table around us, cleaned a few off, and still did not speak to us at all. We left hungry and upset.Word to the wise, if you need sushi in the area, skip this spot. It is overpriced and you'll probably be ignored if you show up an hour before their midday closing. Heck who knows, they may ignore you every other time of day!
The experience here was not as expected. Was not busy and plenty of staff. Wait staff not attentive or efficient....could hear loud belching and giggling.....the sushi was lacking in both presentation and taste. The tuna was warm and mushy. I expected much more.....and was sadly disappointed. The dark roll is a vegas roll....I have never had a vegas roll that looked like that.
We came from out of town and ate here on a busy Friday night and were pleasantly surprised. Every roll we got was delicious, and the staff were very friendly! Service was great. This felt like a cozy neighborhood sushi spot. We’ll be back next time we visit Santa Fe.
We just ate there tonight. As in the past, the service, the drinks list and the food were great. I can recommend Kai for your Japanese culinary desires.
We used to go to Masa Sushi but have stopped since they have gone down hill. MY wife found this place through the recommendations of several friends. We had an EXCELLENT lunch here, the BEST sushi in town bar none. This willbe out go to place now.
Got the Hamachi kama, chicken fried rice and tofu udon. They were all excellent. The wait staff were excellent. This was our 4th option after getting turned away at the ranch house at 7:30pm (closes at 9pm but says the wait was 1:30 min. Lobby was empty) pho ava at 7:40pm (closes at 8pm) and chows since they don’t do dine in. Glad we didn’t give up and go to McDonald’s, lol
SUSHI was good, but not the best. You can tell they use cheap quality fish. Everything else was fine.
Ariel, best waiter I've had. Ask for his magic tricks. Made for a fun and entertaining dinner. Tip this guy good. Here's a tip Ariel, learn more magic tricks ;)
