Lounges Music Venues

If you like dive bars with personality, this is your place. Live music and pool tables. Great venue.

To the bartenders at The Underground: you were raised on whyte privilege and wont hesitate to enforce your power. We all see you sweeties. ??To experience the following you can skip being pulled over by a c*p and be in arms length of the bartenders here instead. [1] Want to be treated poorly for being BIPOC? [2] Want to be physically assaulted? [3] Want to be verbally abused? [4] Want to let some cheugy white folx with tired hair throw their authority in your face? Then this is your place. The fake "punk" front is just so sad when you are always close to snapping and going full bad c*p on your patrons. Bartenders at The Underground are cliquey p*lice academy tryhards and I don't feel safe there anymore.

In my world I search out places like Evangelo's. Between the history, the atmosphere and Nick the owner you couldn't ask for a better immersive venue. It's the kind of bar songwriters and authors write about and all watched over by that iconic photo of Nick's dad that appeared in Life Magazine.Go early, grab a beer and soak it up .just remember it's cash only and no Bud and Nick doesn'tsuffer fools.I wouldn't have it any other way.

The bar was okay, nothing crazy. There was a bartender downstairs that was really rude. It was a female bartender, a big girl with a messed up haircut (just so people know). She just kept telling me how “this is my bar, I own it, so if you don’t like it get out”. Being a little confused on why the “owner” was working downstairs at 2am on a weekend. My friend and I just realized she has issues and decided to leave. Wish I could talk about the bar more but she made the experience that annoying that I tell everyone to avoid that place. Hopefully the real owner has a talk with her and teaches her a little bit of people skills.

I am a solo female traveler and visited this bar around New Years. I believe I was roofied at this bar. I was not that drunk when I arrived, and after a few sips of my drink, I became extremely intoxicated, and immediately ill. Luckily, nothing more serious happened and I was somehow able to make it back to my hotel safely, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Especially for solo females. Do not trust the bartenders.

Been here a couple times and I agree fully with other negative reviews. The bartenders downstairs are incredibly rude and my last time there with my wife, i got Harrassed by a couple guys hitting on my wife and when I defend myself and my wife, I get kicked out and yanked out by the bouncer!! I always have great tips, im a veteran and this place only cares about money and not the overall service. There are other bars all over santa fe and after traveling the world this thw worst experience ever. Only reason this place is still up and running is because of its history and the dead owner, current management is trash and very disrespectful. If your 21 and dont care about how your treated, this is the place for you

Female bartender was rude. There's a nice way to deal with issues and she doesn't know how to deal with customers.

Rude and bigoted. In this day and age, it’s ridiculous to run an establishment by enforcing your own small-minded prejudices. Santa Fe isn’t that kind of town. If you want to support a bar where they don’t appreciate their LGBTQ/gender non-conforming clientele, be my guest, but I don’t want to use my money to support that kind of ridiculous behavior. Terrible.

Bartender was overwhelmed and not attentive to customers. Band was terrible, kept asking for tips and stopping songs half way through. You want a 10 dollar bottom shelf drink and bad music? This is your place.

Bar is fantastic, but more so, read about the history of "Angelo Klonis" and his son that runs the bar. An incredible story of immigration in the US and what this country should stand for. Thank you Nicko and your family for the rich history and everything you've brought to the states.
