We came in a party of six and all left pretty unsatisfied. Two of us had fish and chips and the portion sizes were very off, with one platter having a full piece less than the other. Two of us had enchiladas which barely resembled enchiladas and tasted worse than they looked. The last two of us had mushroom soup which was very under-seasoned and brussels spouts which were undercooked. Half an hour later we all have upset stomachs. Maybe they were having an off night...
Sadly this place has really gone downhill in many ways. I was going to write a review and then decided no I don’t want to hurt them more as I noticed there were some bad reviews. Then I started reading through some of the newer ones and noticed a post that caught my attention, it swayed me to tell my story. I just ordered takeout, after being presented with the bill I noticed my salad was more expensive than what was posted online. I said something about it and the guy said that they updated prices 2 weeks ago and hadn’t gotten around to changing the website. Ok dude, maybe you should, that’s false advertising. So anyway, the review I saw on here said the exact same thing happened to them and this was posted a month ago! Come on Field Goods, get it together!
The hubs and I were looking for a new lunch place and had heard good things about Dr. Field Goods Kitchen, so we stopped in. I was a little off-put by the front door to be honest-it was dirty and had old paper messages taped to it. The interior was very cold, literally cold, and decor uninspired. I guess Guy Fieri had been there (Diners, Drive-ins and Dives) at some point, but it must have been a while, because the food was overpriced and very average. Since it was so chilly inside, I wanted something warm, but the menu stated that enchiladas take 20 minutes, so we passed-not knowing why they take so long to make. (I can make enchiladas in much less time than that, if the chile is already done). So I had a bowl of green chili and the hubs had the carne adovada egg rolls. Both were just ok-but they were the cheapest items on the menu, so there's that. The bowl of chile was about a cup, and some of the potato was very undercooked. I think it had cotija cheese, which I don't care for and there was a 1/4 corn tortilla under the bowl-not sure what that was for. Just OK. The service was ok, the dining area was a bit boring, the menu had a Cubano sammie for $18-it better be amazing for that price, and a cheese pizza also $18.
I would absolutely recommend eating here as they have amazing, spectacular tasting food. I am not just saying this because they have been on an episode of Triple D. We have been to other places that have been on Triple D and they were not that great. This place is wonderfully great however. We went two days in a row because it was that good, and we wanted to try other food from there. I wish that I had tried the pizza while in town, but hopefully next time I will.
We have loved eating at Dr. Field Goods over the years. The food was high-quality and delicious, the vibe was fun, and details mattered. We took out-of-state friends there this evening after raving about it to them. The food quality, including the meat, has dropped dramatically. They have dropped their non-alcoholic muddled drinks and seemed to have replaced their delicious sauce with an ordinary one. Someone in the kitchen dropped a pan at least 3 times, creating a startling noise. We were embarrassed that we took our friends there, and unfortunately won't be returning. We were informed that the menu had changed just 3 days ago, and was different than what is on the website. Nice waitperson.
We used to come here all the time and loved it. The last two times have been horrible. Not clean, food ok…but clearly no care was given to the food prep. Lost us as customers! I wonder if they are under new ownership. There used to be a wonderful selection of beer on tap but now they only offer cans. Can get a can of beer anywhere!
first time to eat here and will never go back, got the New Mexican sandwich no taste what so ever, the pho was horrible considering the high prices the food should be good, the guacamole was ok It should normally come with jalapeños, I had to ask for them. There were uncooked tortilla chips mixed with the cooked ones found that very odd likely a simple mistake but it was actually pretty gross. The noodles in the pho we're definitely not rice noodles and it smelled and tasted like a dirty dish towel. I was very disappointed and as we were walking out the floors were disgustingly filthy, extremely disappointed I'm sure they knew we were not happy since our food was barely touched. customer service was bad were not friendly, I'm shocked this place even has good reviews??? The food has no flavor!!! Super expensive, it's sad that you have to resort to over salting your food to try and get some flavor out of this food they are serving??
A must stop if you’re in Santa Fe. The food and service here is excellent! I ate the New Mexican sandwich and it was amazing! The staff is extremely nice too.
Amazing! Great food, service, and atmosphere!!
Terrible. One of the worst and most expensive burgers I've ever had. First, the burger was under. I don't mind a pink burger but this was beyond that. It had no seasoning. I got the DFG burger and they didn't even put the sauce on it. $15 for a lousy, undercooked, unseasoned burger. Don't waste your time here.
