We are from Florida, and we rode the train to Santa Fe for the farmers market and stopped here because it was close to the depot. Hamburgers are good sized and the sweet potato fries are really good. Great food! Great service!
The portions were large enough but were incredibly greasy. Myto-go order was lost and took a few people to figure out where it was and the drink that I paid for came in a child-size cup. It was also really expensive too. Ended up with a 50-dollar bill for just two sides and an entree. The price did not reflect the quality. Seemed like a decent enough place to have a beer but I just wanted food that was close and thought wouldn't be a hassle.
The bar staff is PHENOMENAL. Friendly, knowledgeable, and making sure folks have a good time while staying on top of the orders. The kitchen and management though? Lacking. We ordered an heirloom salad. Manager came up and said they can't make it. Just Caesar."So you only have romaine, croutons and parmesean?""Yep" they said dryly.A kitchen still open for HOURS has no vegetables left to make a decent salad? Cool. Wish you had tried. Avoid the management.
Absolutely love this place. From a musicians perspective they are top notch at making a non-venue into a venue with stellar sound and engineering ! From a listener and eater perspective I be love this place just as much ! Great staff!
It's ok. The appetizers we ordered never came. Two of us enjoyed our chicken n waffles which we'd recommend. The cocktails were good, too. Others in our party weren't as favorable or were neutral in their opinions of their meals.
Late night dinner, it worked.Had the largest Baja fish taco I've ever had! And was good.Onion rings! OMGHow they are supposed to be!And pilsner on tap, love it!Thanks!!!
We stopped by to check it out after running by here and it was excellent. Server Allan went above and beyond just sharing his knowledge of local beer options and just overall friendly staff. Including Chris… The house margarita was excellent not sweet! Our heirloom tomato salad was great
it's a small place. didn't eat but the food looked good. went to see a show and got put on the patio. it sucked all I could see was a wall, and all I could hear were the people next to me.
We visited Boxcar 3/22 for a date night! The Santa Fe-mous Green Chile Stew is what I recommend you have...at least a cup. The flavor and texture were perfect! It's served with a soft, warm flour tortilla. The chili a la vegan was heavy on the red chili and cumin. We had the roasted Brussels, which were super yummy. And we shared a picante grande burger, cooked to perfection, with a side of delicious broccolini. There are some margaritas on the menu that are no longer available. They have Elevated IPA on tap! Alvin and Casey were fantastic and took excellent care of us. Thank you to the entire staff of Boxcar for making our date night so enjoyable. We'll be back!
Stopped in for lunch with my lovely lady and was very impressed by Erin’s service. Cobb salad was very well presented , boxcar Mac and cheese was perfect prepared, and give the brussel sprouts a try they compliment any meal quite nicely. Very glad this place lived up to the hype will definitely return ☺️
