food was outstanding. we cannot get this type of food back east. service was on point. salsa was the best ever. next time we visit, this will be our first stop?
I get takeout from El Agave somewhat regularly. Their tacos are fantastic, and my wife usually wants a taco salad. Taco salad isn’t on the menu, but they always accommodate and my wife loves it. Their salsa is always wonderful; I usually get a big container and save for later. Great family owned restaurant. Highly recommended
Ate here on a Sunday evening. The food was delicious and hot. Fresh made. Staff was excellent. I would definitely recommend it.
Just discovered this restaurant. The best true New Mexican and Mexican food I have had in months. They make their own taco shells and tortilla chips. This one thing makes all the difference when you want a taco. The crunch is a beautiful experience and their filling rock too. They have a full menu of New Mexico and Mexican dishes. Enjoyed their tamales and ceviche this visit along with a wonderfully moist Tres Leches cake for dessert. Definitely now my go to place!
Came for the first time, with my family, and it is by far THE BEST Mexican food we've had since moving to NM.
First time here and wasn't disappointed. Most of us had various tacos and found them to be quite delicious. Their salsa is good and tostadas/chips are better than most. Prices are reasonable and service was very good. Great little find despite being hidden in the strip mall.

Wonderful service, conversation, and of course excellent tacos with shredded beef nachos! The shredded beef was layered perfectly with alternate layers of beef, cheese, and chips! The tacos had an excellent helping of shredded beef and a first where the shells stayed intact and not soggy! Loved the presentation too on the tacos!
First time.Food was great. I only wish that the salsa was thicker.Everything tasted very good and the staff was wonderful.
We stumbled upon this family owned restaurant and were highly impressed! Everything was delicious and flavorful. We had chile relleno plate and carne asada and birria tacos and they all were equally delicious! I’m so glad we found this authentic Mexican restaurant in Rio Rancho. We definitely will be returning. My pics don’t do this amazing food justice.
