We weren't really hungry so I shared an order of fries and the cheese quesadilla with my wife and son. The quesadilla had chicken and lettuce inside and came with a small cup of spicy sauce. The fries came with browned hamburger crumbles then drizzled with cheese, sour cream, and guacamole.Out of all that, the only thing with any taste was the spicy sauce. The chicken in the quesadilla tasted as if it was just grilled breasts, lacking any additional flavoring, and the cheese and lettuce didn't add anything either. The fries weren't salty, but the browned hamburger didn't seem to have anything added to it either. And the cheese on the fries reminded me of the type that theatres serve with their "cheese and nacho chips" which was tasteless also. The guacamole had a slight bit of flavor but not enough to save the rest of them plate.This was our first time at Matteo's, we're visiting from Nebraska so we'll keep looking for a good local Mexican restaurant.
The food here is really good!!! Granted, I normally get the Asada quesadilla and sometimes the carne asada fries.The Argua frescas are super good. I recommend trying the blue frost which is the blue ocean mixed with horchata! ? it’s so good! Sometimes they even have seasonal drinks. I recommend the pumpkin spice one during the fall.The service here is really good as well. The people are really nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have some Mexican food.
Dining area was clean, staff were very friendly and professional, food looked amazing... All the makings of a great restaurant! But the food had zero flavor. As in absolutely zero. None. It was like eating textured water. I had to go eat something else after to make sure it wasn't just me. It wasn't.
I love their food but I am frustrated the double rice option was taken off the app. I then picked the option to sub and got double beans instead. The wording isn’t clear since the double rice option is no longer an option. I called and the worker seemed confused herself. So half my lunch was ruined ?
Thank you for donating an Agua Fresca to each student in our Monte Vista Elementary Summer School kinder, 1st, and 2nd classes. The kids, and teachers, enjoyed their delicious drinks. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. I had never been there so took recommendations from Lesley. She was spot on in the choices. The authentic Mexican drinks were very good. If I am ever in this area again, I will definitely come here!

LOVED finding Matteos at the downtown location. They were participating in Restaurant Week so decided to give them a try while visiting the area for hiking, biking and a 10k. We both ate for $15! The day before we spent that same amount and only got Subway! I went home with leftovers! We ordered the green hatch chili enchiladas and veggie burrito. The green chili sauce was OMG! Asked for salsa to go on my burrito....BEWARE! It's HOT and it's awesome! Sampled the different flavored drinks they offer, but the food alone was more than we needed. Outdoor dining was lovely. Well worth a visit!
