Delicious food, great service, good management, pleasant atmosphere
Great food, the only issue I had is I got 4 steak fries with my steak. If thats what they always do when you order steak fries... don't order them. The steak was cooked the way I asked for it.

Arrived at the restaurant at 3pm on Monday. There was exactly 5 tables seated and 3 of them getting ready to leave. We were sat down and 7 minutes later another couple walked in and sat down. Then a waiter and waitress checked on the table that had just walked in while they ignored us. We waited a few more minutes after waiting 15 minutes we left and notified the hostess and she said ooh. The restaurant is located in a decent area and it appeared to look nice. The food smelled good. The restaurant itself was extremely hot with no ac on. The staff was not Friendly at all. We wound up at a Mexican restaurant named Delicias del Mar. A lot cooler and staff extremely attentive. My favorite restaurant was in Mesilla just a few minutes away called La Posta ask for the secret menu delicious!!!
They have an amazing salad bar!!!! The food is delicious.. prime rib,salmon,burgers, it's a very nice place.
The times I've eaten here everything has been excellent. 2 times we've added the salad bar with our meals which we usually do the lunch specials. Just a little note you could even just do the salad bar on its own and be very satisfied because they do not skimp on your meal and we've over done it with the salad making us always taking food home ? but there's nothing wrong with that too. Kudo's to the whole staff too. ?
We like the restaurants in this chain and have always had dinner here when in Las Cruces (or Ruidoso, or Roswell, or wherever they are still in business). The food is good -- definitely above average -- and the prices were reasonable. This time, we were a bit irked in that food prices were a little higher, but the salad bar that was normally included in the meal was now priced separately -- and quite high. Also, the salad bar was much lower in quality than in the past. We will likely not be visiting this place again.
We came in from CA and had traveled for two days, Cattle Barons was such a pleasant surprise for hungry travel weary people. The atmosphere delivered the New Mexican flavor that we love. The food was amazing and beat out any of our steak houses in Fresno. The green Chile steak stew was so warm and flavorful and the salad bar was huge with so many salad options including pasta salads. My son had the grilled chicken Alfredo that tasted excellent and my husband had a big juicy burger he said he'd come back again for. The hostess took our name and number and we were able to wait in our car until the hostess texted to let us know our table was ready. The whole restaurant was very clean and very well maintained. As someone who worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years I was really impressed with Cattle Baron's. Great job guys!! We WILL be back. Don't hesitate on this one you won't be disappointed.
My wife and I was intern for work and wen here for dinner, Service was great, the food came fast and was great.
Lunch was good. Got the salad bar today. Lot of choices and everything was fresh. Salad bar was clean and stocked. Today they had their green chile corn chowder. It was very delicious.
