We always eat at virgies when we travel to Gallup. It’s an older place, but always clean. The staff is always very nice and the food has always been great!!!

Excellent food & friendly staff.

fast service & food was good ??

Swung by here crossing the US from San Diego to NC. So glad I did.I went during an off time so the place was pretty empty. Usually this is not a good time to order food because wait and kitchen staff are rotating through breaks after the lunch and before dinner rush.Virgie's didn't stop though. I wanted to try a bit of everything and ended up almost busting my gut trying to finish this plate. While some Mexican places serve up generic one flavor combos like this, Virgie's made sure each of my entree selections had its own full unique flavor. The Relleno was crispy on the outside, not soggy, and full roasted pepper flavor without too much heat. The enchilada was melty cheesy, the tortilla being perfect doneness. The taco, while usually meh in a place like this was brimming with sharp fresh cheddar (a huge plus if you're used to the pre-shredded flavorless stuff) and seasoned ground beef. Cold diced tomato, fresh lettuce...a real solid taco. The burrito was just as good as the others in its own unique way, I just can't type much more on the subject haha. All in all, I'd come by here again in a heartbeat if my path gets near it in the future.

The food was great and the service was excellent. I wish they had more help so they could open later. Shout out to Charlie and his team.

Good service. Food okay. Not bad at all just nothing special. Had beef stew and chicken fajitas

Home cooking at its New Mexican Finest. Really nice staff, homey diner feel, and a pretty extensive New Mexican menu, with mix and match combos. The flour tortillas were made there, and they were fresh, fluffy, thick and pillowy soft, and really excellent with the Mexican-style broth and tomato based beef stew with big chunks of beef, potatoes, carrots, and lots of aromatics. My husband really enjoyed the beef fajitas and the plate has a delicious assortment of condiments to go with the fluffy tortillas and juicy beef. I *loved* the stew, it was super satisfying after a cold, dry long day hiking, and it really hit the spot, perfectly seasoned, and the broth was so soothing.

Great food and service. Family type atmosphere.

I had read all the reviews and we decided to drive through Texas and stop here in Gallup...just to try this place. We almost didn't make there 8pm closing and we were worried that we wouldn't make it in time. It was a blessing to make it just 30min before they closed. After 12 hours of driving this was what my family needed. The beef stew is amazing, menudo was even better! But what brought us here was the homemade tortillas! And let me tell you it is worth the drive! The sopapillas are so yummy. You have to try them too! We felt the hospitality...the staff was amazing. But what made our night was the gentlemen that purchased our dinner. Thank you so much for making it even more memorable! What a great end to our long drive! It helped us get through 1 more day of driving. Thank you so much for all you do!

My son's and I just love the food they offer. Friendly service. Only place I can get a red smothered bean burrito while the kids eat buffalo wings or pizza.
