I LOVE this place!! My favorite is the small bbq pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, and the cobblers are all to die for. I also love their peach lemonade. I forgot to take pictures of the food I was so excited to eat it. My dad had the shrimp plate and they gave him a huge portion of shrimp. He was very happy. My niece had the chicken plate and it was also a very large portion. Her son had the Mac n cheese and it was homemade fantastic! This is family owned and they are such a wonderful, friendly family every time I have been there. I wish there were more family run restaurants like this.
We're always looking for BBQ everywhere we go. After checking out the reviews, we were excited to try The Spare Rib, but unfortunately were left very disappointed with the product. We always order various meats to try and gave the ribs, brisket and chicken a shot here (visited on 6/4/22). The ribs and brisket were dry, especially the brisket. My wife said it was the "driest brisket I ever had" and I'd have to agree. We had to choke it down. All the meats seemed to be smoked with no seasoning because they had no flavor. There was an older gentleman, who I assumed to be the owner, who was super friendly and kind, but that was the only bright spot to this experience.
All BBQ lovers have their own favorite flavor, but I think this one is pretty good. Good bark, good smoke taste through and through. Mighty tasty sides, too!
I'm from Texas and this place will give us a run for the money. Great sauce excellent ribs and sausage. Entire staff friendly and polite from cashier to bus person.
Can't decide which is sweeter--the barbecue sauce or the staff. Such a cool place to eat. Reasonably priced for homemade barbecue. I had the sampler: pork, rib and sausage with pinto beans and baked ?. Did I mention baked potatoes with sour cream, butter and cheese? Nice crispy skin. I'll definitely go back and will get all ribs because that was my favorite.
BBQ is one of my favorite things to eat. What makes good bbq is what you DON’T have to put sauce on the meat. The meat should speak for itself. That is not the case at Spare Rib. The meat has zero seasoning to speak of. No smoke and no flavor. The bbq sauce doesn’t really help the situation either. The only two good things that I did have were the sausage and the corn bread roll. Even the macaroni and cheese tasted like they used a packet of powdered cheese. If I were eating craft, that’d be fine. The food was WAY overpriced for the portion size. I definitely won’t be back.
I ate there today for a work lunch and it was so good I ordered take out for dinner. Sausage and pulled pork were my choices and both were very flavorful. Definitely a scratch BBQ sauce. Loved it. Fried okra was seasoned well and had a good crunch, even after driving it home. Excited to try something new next time.
Outstanding BBQ restaurant. Upon walking in, clearly a great place. Clean, nicely decorated, casual, super friendly and helpful staff, and of course outstanding BBQ meats. Cherry, peach and apple cobblers are homemade. Just happened in, so happy, highest recommdation. Carrie was wonderful.
Stopped at this BBQ place while on business from South Texas, the food is good and hosts are warm and friendly. I would stop by again if I returned to the area. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a satisfying lunch/dinner.
