A fun little throwback place to grab a bite. The staff were really friendly and polite. Their service was quick, responsive, and professional. Five stars for the staff. The food was really good to a point. I had a cheese burger and curley fries. The burger was well cooked and very tasty. The curly fries, well, those things could use some work. Mine were overly greasy and cold. The rest of my party said their food was delicious. If the curly fries were served at least warm, I would have considered five stars.
The staff here is always pretty cool! My waitress, Hannah, was very polite and did an amazing job taking my order! I love how they make their milkshakes, and it’s different varieties of food!
The wife's steak was grilled to perfection. Real mashed potatoes. Our server Aspen was awesome and her banana split must be the world's best! We're from Colorado Springs but will be back!
This place is so cute! The decor inside is nice and keeps you busy looking around as you wait for your food. I ordered the chicken fried steak with french fries and my wife ordered the BLT with onion rings. Our food came out in what seemed to be a reasonable amount of time. My wife's BLT was good and what you would expect for a BLT other than placed right next to the sandwich with all of its juices were 3 pickle slices. For someone who doesnt like pickles at all, that made a couple of bites of her bread soaked in juices that she didnt want. No worries, she wouldnt have been able to eat the whole thing anyway. Her onion rings were also good and crispy. My chicken fried steak and french fries also came with veggies. I took a bite of those first and decided I didn't care for them. They were overcooked to my liking and not seasoned much at all. I took my first (and only) bite of my chicken fried steak and it was DELICIOUS!!!! The cream gravy had just the right flavor and consistency and the steak was fried up so crispy. And that's when I saw it... a very long and very black hair woven through my french fries (that I hadn't had a chance to taste yet) and my veggies. And that was pretty much the end of my meal. I just can't go back there again. I'm giving it 3 stars because the food was really delicious and the staff was very friendly and did a great job. When we notified them of the hair, they apologized and asked if I'd like it remade or taken off the bill. I obviously chose to have it removed.
We went there for dinner after a long day on the road. The service was prompt and the waitress very courteous. I ordered a scorpion burger which was fairly good, the fries a bit overcooked.
Bad Night Manager! Had a full plate of food removed off our table when I took my granddaughter to the bathroom. Returned to my plate and granddaughter's food gone. The night manager is rude to her staff and to customers that have an issue. She told a customer, "I'm done talking with you!" when they were upset how she treated another issue. "She told the customer "I'm done with you" when the customer said that a manager should not act rude. Not going back to the diner - as long as she is in charge, the other staff were nice and helpful, especially Gabby and Heather. Food is usually good, but doesn't help to have bad manager in charge.
For the first time in forever we were very disappointed in food.... Curly fries were soggy n not good. Oil needed 2 be changed badly.My steak medium rare was sooo tough I could barely cut it with steak knife let alone chew it.We have been eating here 4 years n were very disappointed, will not return 5 a long time if ever. Service was very good as was the coffee. Sad 2 say....
Night manager was unkind to customers and to her staff. She needs to go! A customer had a full plate of food removed from their table, when they'd gone to the restroom. "Oh well it's in the trash now!" Some customers came in and sat down with friends to visit, while waiting for a table to open up for them, the night manager told them that they "could not be served" if they did not get back in line to wait for a table. The 4 customers got up and walked out the door because they were next in line to be seated. When the night manager was asked about it by another customer - she told the customer, "I don't care!" and "I'm done with you!" and walked away. So not only did Dad's Diner loose those 4 customers, but the friends that they had sat down with. Oh! by the way, 4 tables opened up right after the customers walked out the door. BAD Management! After witnessing the way this night manager treated those customers, we will not go back to eat there - until this manager is fired! Very sad, because it is a good place to eat! The wait staff and customers deserve to be treated kindly! The waitresses Gabby and Heather were great, but this manager needs to learn a little about how to properly treat customers and her staff.
Service was great that’s why I gave a 2 star. I ordered the bbq basket expecting something bbq’d but the whole dinner was deep fried. Everything except the catfish was way over done. On a brighter note the burgers looked good and I should’ve ordered one!
Great cake, but chicken fried steak and hamburger were not beef but mystery meat soft almost like cornmeal added just guessing so we will go back but not for those.
