After a long day of traveling, I was so hoping to have a good margarita and New Mexican food. That was not the case. To start off with, their margaritas were “wine-based“, whatever the heck that means. I ask if I could order a shot of tequila to go in my margarita, and that was a big no. I ordered the chicken flautas, and they were just so-so.

3 years ago I visited Clovis , New Mexico ...Wanted some drinks and dinner so decided on Leal's. BEST BEEF FAJITAS I'VE EVER EATEN.!!!!!! And I have tasted many varieties of FAJITAS (being from Houston, Tx). These beef FAJITAS were "melt in your mouth" tender. Since then I've relocated to Amarillo but COVID-19 has put Amarillo location out of business. So ?. I hope to come back to Clovis one day soon...just for some beef FAJITAS and of course some margaritas !

One of the best Mexican food i ever have had

This is TexMex/New Mex food. The atmosphere was good. Not much of a wait on a busy night. Our waitress was in training and she was good. Very attentive. My chile relleno plate was served nice and hot. It's not a traditional chile relleno. The egg mix is either mixed too much(flat) or there are fine bread crumbs mixed in.....could be made much better. The refried beans tasted like can beans or powder, not recently fresh cooked. The fajita plate was good, can't go wrong with ordering this plate. I might go back but I will try a different plate. No agua frescas and don't try your spanish.

The best Mexican food in Clovis

Went to eat at Leal’s tonight. It was great as always! Our waiter Tre was super! He made sure we had everything we wanted/needed and checked on us multiple times! If you have not tried their Fried Ice Cream I HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Excellent food, service top notch! We were passing through on an RV trip and asked the local campground host, Leal’s was her favorite place!!

I had the brisket tacos, so very tasty, and a margarita on the rocks, tasty too!!

The food was good, but the service is struggling. Hopefully its just due to staffing shortages. The order was delivered wrong, refills were wrong and the sopas had to be reordered. We’ll wait awhile and give it another try. This was our second disappointing visit.

I was visiting Clovis and asked a woman coming out of grocery store where she would go for dinner tonight. She told me Leal's and gave me directions. First, EXCELLENT service. Waitress came by serveral times to check on us and even the manager coming by to make sure everything was going well.Food was very generous portions and tasted very good. I perfer my chile a bit hotter, but good taste.
