This place is sooo good. Get the half order of dirty chips and/or poutine unless you're a party of 4+
Walked in for lunch on a weekday, the place was pretty packed. Waited about 10 minutes to be seated which was reasonable since they were full. The server was incredibly sweet, personable, and attentive. The menu had a nice variety of meals that jump out and grab your attention.I chose The New Mexico Fish & Chips and my guest went with The Bohemian sandwich. We were given complimentary chips and salsa as we waited for our meals. The restaurant had an old rustic feel to it. As my guest and I chatted, we were attacked by mad annoying flies which was hugely annoying.Food was served in a reasonably fast manner. The portions are HUGE!!! You definitely won't leave this place feeling hungry. The food looked exactly as it does in the menu pictures, incredible presentation.Taste wise...I was let down. My fish breading was good but there was way more breading than actually fish. My fries were super salty and hard. Maybe because I wasn't that hungry but I just picked at my food.My guest said the sandwich was good. Originally I was going to rate this place a 3 but the server pushed it to a 4, she was delightful. ?
Our waitress was so great! Helpful and friendly and her recommendations were spot on! We came in with 11 people from work. We all had something different and it was all very good! I had the cowboy wedge salad and the steak was cooked to perfection. The fish and chips looked amazing, the burgers and the jerk chicken! So good! We had dirty chips for an appetizer and they were addictive. Even the peach tea was amazing! I will definitely be back.
I've been to Carlsbad on 4 separate occasions within 3 years, and each time I've went to lucky bull grill. Their food is amazing! Consistency is key to a booming eatery and this place has it. I've always ordered the lucky bull burger and dirty chips. Each and every time the flavors are just as I remembered. The servers are always attentive. They never let my drink go empty which goes underappreciated sometimes. Great atmosphere, great service, great vibes. A must visit when in the carlsbad area.
We devoured the dirty chips before I had a chance to take a picture. Whatever you do, make sure you get these! They were amazing. The NM catfish was also excellent as was the fries and onion rings. Both burgers at our table had been ordered medium and came out well done so that was disappointing. Service was friendly but slow, however, they were at the height of the lunch crowd when we were here.
We ate here on a whim while traveling through the area. For bar style food, it was wonderful. I love that you can get a half order of poutine for dirty chips as your side. The service was prompt and food was delicious. Just a nice little find.
Ok eatery, located not far from our hotel. Locals frequent it so I guess our experience was unusual. Food was ok, service could be better. It seems that during busy times things were slow. Maybe next time.
Good food and good service. American grill menu. Music is not so loud you can’t have lunch conversation. Parking access is a bit tricky. Women’s restroom leaves a lot to be desired.
We stumbled on this gem the first night we arrived in Carlsbad to do the caverns. Good selection of beers and ciders on tap and diverse choices in food. I had the Pecos Valley Poutine and that was 2 meals worth food. Hubby had a burger and kiddo had the alfredo. Good place for family as everyone can find what they want on one menu.
Stopped in from out of town, GREAT!! We loved the wedge salad with a perfectly cooked to order top sirloin riding atop a crispy wedge of lettuce with lots of fresh salad additions, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, bacon, cheese and more. The blue cheese dressing was unbelievable, chunks.. if you love blue cheese. The garlic vinaigrette was amazing with a touch of sweet..Hope we need to come to Carlsbad again. (The Caverns were amazing too, top it off with a meal here)
