It is a neat place if you had never seen such before, they're never is to big of a crowd, done pretty good fishing especially if the water is running pretty good.
The fajitas were great, the burger was very good. The fries are the pre-made, from frozen kind, but well prepared (i.e. not soggy).The service was very friendly.One thing: this place was _very_ difficult to find. It is inside a motel with NO indication outside.
Nice place,I had the cheeseburger , wife and 1 daughter gad chicken fried steak, 2nd daughter had tacos.All tasted good.Friendly staff.

Always good atmosphere! You can visit no shouting over music. Great salad bar and menu is little pricey and I will say they do not have menu for kids:^(
We went for Easter lunch which was a buffet. It was ok but because of my dietary restrictions, they didn't have much I could eat. I had turkey & little mashed potatoes, and they were ok, but nothing great. I wanted roast beef but it was all well done which is too dry for me. I guess you were supposed to know that you had to ask for rolls because they weren't offered and we saw them on other tables. Also if you have never been before then you have to figure out yourself that the salad bar, food bar, and deserts are in different rooms. None of us ate $25 worth of food.
Not the world's best, but not bad either. Poor lady, she was well overworked, took my son's order incorrectly, he was all bummed. She fixed it by bringing us some beautiful desserts though. Heads up they have really good pecan pie and cheesecake. Burgers aren't that bad either.
Very rude bartender in the Blue Cactus! I been staying at the Steven’s inn since the late eighties and never been treated like I was on 3/9/22. I asked for a spoon to eat my soup multiple times and a nice bartender brought me one, then a very rude and snotty bartender grabbed my drink and threw it in the trash and asked me to leave. I will no longer stay a this hotel.
Wife and I tried the pasta night and it was very good. You get to build your own pasta plate and watch the pasta mistro prepare it for you. There is a variety of pasta, meat, sauces and vegetables to create your dinner plate. There will be leftovers unless you can share a salad and pasta dinner, there is that much food. Ok, it's not like your Italian grandmother making you pasta but not bad for Carlsbad.
The front desk was rude insulting I made reservations two days in advance upon arriving for check ws told that because I had a local ID I couldnt check evwn though I had a guaranteed booking then they called the police on. me even after being verified by the police that I wasnt some criminal the counter person was still comdenisending and insulting They will never get my business again ever
