What a wonderful find! We were heading to a different restaurant and it turned out to be closed on Monday. We went ahead and drove up the road and we saw Western View. The food was delicious, the service excellent, and the green chile was very hot! Can't wait to go back!

If you haven't been here than you've been missing out. It's a small diner that serves good food. The wait staff are so nice. Always friendly. The have the best homemade chicken fried steak that I have ever had!! You gotta try it! If you go for breakfast though you'll get it with fried potatoes and eggs. I prefer the lunch/dinner. It comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, Texas toast and a salad. Delicious!!!

delicious food and good service

The chef gave us a choice of beautiful steaks and custom cooked them. Absolutely fantastic, best meal we've had in a while. Highly recommend. Would go again! My apologies for the cheap tip my husband left ☹️

I tried to enjoy the meal but unfortunately for me the steak wasn't seasoned well enough. I had to add steak sauce and salt to taste the steak. Shrimp was good, not over cooked. My daughter didn't care for her grilled cheese, she referred to it as a cheese sandwich because the bread didn't look or have the texture of a grilled cheese. Place is in a good location, it was clean, and had friendly staff all around.

This restaurant has been around for years. It is an Albuquerque icon. And Yes!! The food amazing because it's homemade!! The wait staff are friendly as always. When in Albuquerque, stop by Western View; ask for their homemade biscuits? Breakfast is served all day!!

We love going to local diners especially when traveling. Serving some of Albuquerque's finest diner food right on old Route 66 since the 1930's, this place is a throwback to years ago. Great menu choices prepared to perfection by the owner/cook. Crisp iceberg lettuce salad started us out. Wife had liver and onions, mashed potatoes, and hand cut carrots with syrup and brown sugar. I enjoyed hand-breaded veal parmesan with a side of spaghetti and garlic toast. EXCELLENT homemade tomato sauce! Servings were huge and delicious. Service was prompt and cheerful. The owner (from New York) came out and talked with us for a while. Discovered his uncle owned the diner I used to eat at when I was a kid! This place is a true Route 66 gem and is most highly recommended.

Great selection of very reasonably priced food, easy parking, clean and well maintained facility, but the winner was the stellar service!! Everyone from the wait staff, the bussers, even the cook came out to talk to everyone. I can't think of the last time I have felt more valued as a customer! What a gem! Can't wait to go back!

I had to put one star so I can say probably don't wanna go here. The food was not seasoned at all. My salad was wet and flavorless. The gravy was best described as wet too. The steak was cooked right but I smothered it in A1 to get a flavor. The bus guy was the best part he checked on us more than our waitress and kept our drinks filled. The bill was 70$ and they will get nothing more from me. Everyone was friendly at the end but the damage was done.

The food way ok, could have been cooked a bit better. The service needs a bit more urgency. The chef is very nice and we will definitely come back to see if we can get this review to a 5.
