Disappointing. Got veal scallopini. Pasta was overcooked and mushy, veal was overcooked and tough, sauce was watery and WAYYYY too much. Dish was swimming. If you're in the mood for Italian go to M'tuccis or PiatanziEdit: I did alert the wait staff. But if you screw up a dish that bad, I'm really not interested in whatever "fix" you think you can provide. Also kinda funny that you're not even gonna comment on the soup I was served. Looking through other reviews, this indeed seems like something you're known for.
Trombino's has been our favorite Italian bistro for over 30 years. Walking in the door, you feel transported to Italy because of the decor, aromas, and bustling activity. We appreciate the attentive service and pleasant atmosphere. When we remember to go to Happy Hour, there are excellent prices for beer and wine so there is $ left for cannolis. My go to meal is Shrimp Fra Diavolo which is a shrimp and spicy marinara dish . I only wish the shrimp were grilled with spices. My husband got the meat marinara sauce with spaghetti. He took half of it home to enjoy the next day. As befits a true Italian restaurant, there is a wide choice of pastas, sauces, and fresh hot bread. The next time you want authentic Italian food, leave the passport at home and head to Trombino's.
Excellent food and service! We really enjoyed our meals! The parmesan crusted salmon had a nice crunch and a delicious, warm texture. The chicken with capers and pasta flavors were perfectly blended. As always, the spaghetti and meatballs were on point. The grilled salmon and veggies was so good there were no leftovers to take home!
Since my grandmother was Italian, and she was the best cook ever, I can gauge my opinion on the best Italian food! Trombino's is consistently good... B to B+ grade on average. The wait staff is generally a B to B+ as well. The ambiance is dated, and a bit crowded...with the horrible hall of waiting right in front of the door! Take all that, and add the fact that Alb simply does not have an A grade Italian restaurant...and Trombino's is my choice for a filling, and decent place to eat Italian: ) My fav is the eggplant parm so big you have a take home bag that tastes even better the next day!
So normally this place is awesome. We have been ordering to go for most of the pandemic. Dined in tonight. We are used to the long wait when you don't have a reservation. When We were seated, it took about 15 minutes before someone took our drink order. Then it took another 10 to get our food order. Then it took over an hour to get our food. A table that was seated after us with twice as many people actually got all of their stuff way before us. I didn't even get the glass of wine I ordered in all that time. The waitress at one point told us our food was ready and would be coming out. Then another 15 minutes went by. Two of the meals were a little cold and dry.Now I know they are understaffed as everyone else is. But my advice would be not to pack the place wall to wall throughout the evening if there is not enough staff to handle the volume. Or just be honest from the start that it is going to be a long evening.Pleasant staff otherwise.
Staff and service were AMAZING. Great atmosphere but the quality of food has me thinking I should have just got some Olive Garden. To save a little money and the bread sticks are better at OG ngl. Rigatony’s in Chandler AZ is who I compared trombolis to internally and I was disappointed to say the least.
This place is always delicious. the staff very attentive but not bothersome. very friendly as well. a reflection of ownership. clean classy and very comfortable atmosphere. now the Food is amazing. from the bruschetta appetizers to our main dishes and the dessert. was a great time always. everyone must stop and try this place. 5 stars for sure.Thank you Trombino's. always great.
I just enjoyed the best meal I have had in two years thanks to Trombino's take out. Lobster stuffed ravioli, shrimp and pasta, soup and garlic bread. My taste buds were happy again after not eating indoors due to the pandemic. My wife and I are looking forward to trying something different very soon.
The food was really good and the staff was very nice. We had a full course meal, and each course was prepared as requested. The price to portions ratio was fair and they had a good wine selection. We had a good time on a rare night out.
Though the service was slow due to staff shortages.... the experience and food was wonderful for a first timer. Its a cozy and romantic setting. I would highly recommend trying this place, I was not disappointed. Definitely returning.
