I found this little gem one day when I was looking for something different. I chose the location near 25 the way and Jefferson. No beer or liquor sales when I went but that won't matter. The aromas and food coming out of that kitchen was all I needed. Fast, friendly service. Food was hot and delicious. I will be back. Need to try more of the menu items.
They have been in Albuquerque for a very long time, 20+ years. They moved into this new location recently. One of my favorite authentic Vietnamese eats period!!
Found hair in our food, the owner says it was lemongrass. After verifying it was a hair, she advised she saw the video of us finding the hair, it was the waitress hair, still in denial. I went the next day, and was refused service and asked to leave. These people have not right to be in business. The pork was old and the wait staff is over bearing. Pho tasted like dish water. Completely unprofessional.
I was first sold because they served jasmine iced tea. The spring rolls were yummy and even had mint. (Some places don't do that). The pho broth was flavorful and the tendon pieces in the combination bowl were big and plentiful. The atmosphere was still decorated from the former restaurant renting this space. Restrooms needed attention though.
Had great early dinner at Saigon City. It was still quiet and very relaxing. We ordered Banana Flower Salad with Chicken, Pho Ga (Chicken Noodle Soup), and Banh Xeo (Crepe/Rice Pancake). The salad and crepe are amazingly authentic.Pho broth was good but it was little sweet. Should be little more sour. The server was the lady owner - Kim, who was very friendly. Before we left we met and talked with Sean, the owner-husband. He told us how tough it was during peak of Covid and how he just reopened his restaurant.
Tried it for the first time tonight. I was surprised at the reaction of the server when I explained that I ordered beef pho. She insisted I ordered chicken despite others having heard me order beef. I didnt care about the mixup; I simply wanted her to charge for the chicken instead of beef. The other odd thing is that the fried egg rolls are $3.95 on menu. When I asked why they charged $5.50, I was told it was because I shared the order with another person. Then another server said, "oh, the dipping sauce is extra." While I have never seen this to be the case, I thought that this would have been made clear on the menu if there is an upcharge.Definitely not worth it.
My favorite Vietnamese restaurant by far! I highly recommend getting their wings they are worth every penny. I have eaten almost everything though and it's all delicious. It's not a super busy place and they can generally accommodate a party of any size. 10/10 recommend.
Absolutely delicious! The menu is huge and offers so many selections. We ordered the tofu/veggie spring rolls (A4), Pho Chay (vegetarian pho P1) and Mi Xai Chay (MX1). Wow! I love pho and I love vegetable soup. I was very excited to have an option for a veggie pho soup and was flavorful and had a wide variety of veggies. Seriously it had everything: carrots, baby corn, mushrooms, bok choy, asparagus, cabbage and more— I’m used to paying extra for this many veggies in my soup. It was fantastic and I already want it again! My husband ordered the Mi Xai Chay, veggies with tofu and soft noodles. He really liked it but wished there were more noodles. The spring rolls were ok the small side (which I prefer because when they are too big it’s a little overwhelming)and served with peanut sauce.Nice ambiance. No liquor license yet but they are working on it and should have one soon.A must try if you like Vietnamese food!
When I ate here the first time I was delighted! I got the B7 and it was insanely delicious and was a healthy portion that allowed me to take home leftovers. Unfortunately tonight I decided to get takeout and I had a very different experience. I ordered the exact same dish, B7, and it was less than half the size of their regular dish! It barely took up half of a single to-go container. I opened it and was so sad, it was obvious that it wasn’t even one normal serving, it was probably the size of a small appetizer. I’m really disappointed so even though the food was delicious, it wasn’t even enough for one full meal and I still needed something else to eat after. I just wish their sizes were consistent so that I could rely on one dish being enough for me no matter where I eat it.
My husband and I absolutely love this place. It is one of the best restaurants in Albuquerque. We have tried many of their soups and we always get the grilled shrimp and pork spring rolls! I like the stir fry with crunchy noodles and also fried rice. This restaurant has been around for years and the food is always fresh and hot! Thank you Kim and family for being great cooks and providing wonderful service.
