I came on Sunday morning and waited 45 min. for opening because I have been craving some lamb. I ordered the souvlaki platter that comes with one skewer of marinated lamb chunks, small salad, and a spoon of rice. While I waited for the food, I could barely hear myself think due to the blasting of a Greek soccer game. There was nowhere to go inside to avoid the racket. I also had trouble finding a clean table, though I was the first customer of the day. The service was excellent, and all the food had a great flavor, but the lamb chunks were overcooked, dry, and full of gristle. It was like gnawing on sinew. It was not worth half of the price I paid.
I wanted to try a Greek restaurant while visiting ABQ. This place has the most delicious entrees. We ordered the beef shawarma, beef kabob and lamp kabob. It was so good I forgot to take pictures of it.The rice pudding was kinda bland but because the food was so hot and delicious.I will definitely come back to eat here.
I've been a loyal customer for years, but I received bad service, no receipt and order number. Last week I waited for my dinner order, a number was called but I didn't know my order number. The female cashier was sitting down eating her meal, while my order number was being called on the loud speaker. I ordered a gyro but my order had no pita bread & looked like slop & possibly spitted on. I didn't want to eat it when I got home because it was not what I ordered & paid for. Next day, I took my food back, I gave it to male owner & made a complaint. We started arguing loud, and he asked me how much I paid, but no receipt was given to me. He offered me $10.00 But while I was leaving, the cook said something in Greek. I turned around & asked, "What did you say?" Cook didn't respond back to me. I am so disappointed with the lack of customer service, lack of respect and lack of getting a paying customer's order correct. My recommendation, don't eat here. Both owners, cashier & cook are not nice to their customers. I recommend going else where.
The service was spectacular, super friendly, and very homelike. The food was delivered in a timely manner and was delicious and very filling! If you like Greek food or interested in trying something different, this place is a must. I ate the Gyro and a side of humus, both were excellent choices. ???
Some of the BEST Greek food I've had! The spanikopita is my favorite! Sandra was so warm and welcoming when we arrived and she made sure we had all the fixings to thoroughly enjoy our meal! Olympia Cafe is our first choice next time we're craving Greek! ? ?
This has always been my favorite Greek restaurant since I moved to Albuquerque more than 10 years ago!The owners are so sweet, and they treat their employees like family. The staff there has always been so friendly! There's lots of parking spaces outside and tables inside. They also have a space for meetings or celebrations.Every time I go, there is something new! (But thankfully they don't get rid of any menu items to make room for the new things) If you're lucky enough to be there on a day before they run out of their baklava cheesecake that they make in-house from scratch, you HAVE TO try it!
The food wasn't bad. It's probably around any other Greek restaurant. I would come back however witnessing some extremely rude actions will stop by from coming back here. The lady who was on the register was patiently waiting while I was reading the menu. I believe the owner another lady just reached over her and opened the register without saying a word. The girl manning the register stepped aside without saying anything. The owner then grabbed some money out and left again without saying anything.Extremely rude. That's all I have to say.
First time experiencing Greek cuisine, and it was not disappointing here at Olympia Cafe. The staff are very friendly and accomadating, they create a very welcoming environment. They have great portions, reasonable prices, and DELICIOUS food. The meat is tender, the pita was soft and flavorful, and the Baklava was a deliciously sweet way to top off the meal. Definetly recommend if you are looking for something that feels like home.
Always my favorite Greek restaurant with fresh, delicious food. Now, however they have a baklava cheesecake that is INCREDIBLE! An Olympia Cafe original made in house, I just learned. Can’t recommend enough!
I have been going to Olympia for years, and when I moved out of town, I make sure to go each time I visit. Last time, I had my mom with me. She isn't a fan of Greek food, but I assured her she'd love it. And she did! I went with my tried and true Grecian chicken with rice. I love that dish, and she did as well. I'm sure the rest of their dishes are great, but I've only ever gotten the Grecian chicken because it is amazing!*If you're from out of town and can't find parking on the street, there is a small lot behind their restaurant.*
