If I could give 0 stars I would. Yesterday myself and some friends went into Oak Tree Cafe for lunch. One of my friends was ready before me and went to order their food. Then there were 2-3 customers then myself. My friend has severe allergies and asked the cashier about what kind of oil they used and a few other questions around her allergies. The chef (maybe owner) came out from the kitchen to answer the questions because the cashier was not certain and stated she did not want to give false info. After my friend asked the questions she discovers she cannot eat there and asks to cancel the food order and still orders a drink. After my friend leaves the register area, the chef (maybe owner) goes back to the register and starts talking to the cashier and next customers stating things like “if you have that many allergies you need to stay home” and “there’s flour everywhere it’s ridiculous for someone to go out thinking a restaurant can accommodate everything”. And ends with “oh I should watch my mouth” and walks away laughing. It was extremely unprofessional. I spoke with my friends about what I just saw and we all decided to go somewhere else due to this event. I will not go back to this establishment nor will I recommend this place to anyone. It’s one thing to not be able to accommodate your customers, but then to mock them for their allergies to other customers is a line that shouldn’t be crossed.
Wow!! Did I say wow?? Prices…perfect for the amount you get. Quality.. beyond what you expect. Taste.. Well, my 8 yr old says “I’m in paradise”. Friendlinesses was over the top. Everyone was happy and had a servants heart. Even to the point that I left my purse and it was brought out to me at my car. This is a great place to support a local business!!!
Quaint and cute! You order and then they bring you your food! They even have a long 'community table' in the middle of the room! Large portions...
Food was great!Big problem that bathrooms are locked and code doesn't work. Another problem was that drinks, side dishes and too go boxes are all styrofoam with no alternative.Because of the bathroom situation and styrofoam, I will not be back.
Wonderful lunch spot! Fresh food, crisp veggies, great flavors!
A lunch-only family run affair with some beer and specialty sodas. Nothing fancy schmancy here, and I must admit that someone finally understands that you need good hearty buns to stand up to the moisture of a green Chile Cheeseburger!
Had a Rueben sandwich - it was outstanding! Apple slaw was real tasty!.Glad to see you adjust for not enough staff - more restaurants should adopt this philosophy.
Great service, great food and great staff
Great food and atmosphere. Came here with a family of six and everyone was happy with their food
Outstanding family owned and operated business! Over the many years I’ve been coming to Oak Tree Cafe I can honestly say that I’ve never had a meal I didn’t love. The food is consistently high quality, and delicious. I typically order whatever the daily special that they are offering but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything on their diverse menu. The sandwiches are mouthwatering. The salads are always refreshing and are usually large enough to have leftovers. The dining area is always clean and well-equipped for gatherings family or casual business meetings. They also have a great patio with a view of the majestic Sandia mountains. As for drink options they offer a full line of premium fountain sodas and several beers are always on tap.Perhaps more impressive than the food is the service. This is a family owned and operated establishment and you can feel the love and care from the moment you walk in the door. You can almost always spot the husband / wife / daughter trio working tirelessly to ensure a great experience. Always with a warm smile and kind disposition. If you are a regular they will typically address you by name. This is a rare occurrence in the post-Covid world we live in.This restaurant is a 30 minute drive for me but it’s always worthwhile. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
