I was looking forward to our takeout family meal of brisket, pork, potato salad, cole slaw and peach cobbler last night. Poor meat quality, little flavor, very salty cobbler. The slaw n potato salad wasn't bad, but for $70 we were very disappointed. We won't go back.

Good but not great. (I'm from the Texas so the bar is pretty high.) Will keep looking around town for a place to get my BBQ fix

I have heard nothing but great reviews about this place so I went there today with a friend for lunch. I was underwhelmed to say the least. I got tips and ends which I usually love but these were like eating jerky, dry hard and nearly unable to be chewed. When I did get a bite of softer meat, it was delicious but most of what was on my plate wasn't good, I took it home and fed it to my pets. I thought the sauce was a bit under seasoned but adding a bit of salt made it tasty. Kudos to them for considering those who prefer a low sodium meal because adding salt is easy, removing it is nearly impossible. They still do not have inside dining so perhaps that is the issue, not as much turnover. Also the wait was way too long for our takeout orders. My friend ordered a pulled pork sandwich and said that she enjoyed it. On the plus side, the meat was not over smoked, the flavor still came through nicely which I really appreciated. I will try them again at their location on Central after they are open for dine in.

Probably the worst bbq I've had in this town. I remember this place being a lot better many years ago, but has definitely gone downhill.I ordered the beef plate. It didn't taste like brisket at all. Almost reminded me of frozen tv dinner meat.potatoe salad that didn't have a trace of potatoesFries ordered were cold and soggyCorn bread that were basically yellow, dry, flavorless pancakes. But on the upside, the Turkey leg was good, but $14 is very overpriced!Would not come here again.I WOULDN'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Was there a couple of weeks ago and was pretty disappointed. Powdrells has always been my favorite place for BBQ but I guess I'll have to look elsewhere. The ribs weren't fall of the bone anymore, barely had any sauce. They actually tasted like they were made in the oven rather than being smoked. The dining room is closed so we ate outside in the patio which wasn't too bad. Went back inside to order something else to go and we ended up seeing a roach crawling on the wall. It wasn't just any roach either, this was a German cockroach and those things get into everything and everywhere because they multiply at a high rate. Our lunch was thrown out because of what we saw.

Catfish was excellent! Sweet Potato fries were fairly good, the bbq beans and the peach cobbler were not good.

Great food at fair prices. Only 4 stars because no smoked turkey breast, my favorite, and the beef comes dripping in sauce. If you like it that way then you'll love this because the sauce has just the right amount of spice.

We were extremely disappointed in the full rack of pork ribs. I can't believe the old, dried, chewy ribs we received. For a long time best barbecue in Albuquerque it was tasteless. For the price and lack of quality we will not be returning to Powdrells any time in the future. In the past 40 years we always had delicious food until now. I think Mr. Powdrell would be upset to know the quality of his restaurant had deteriorated so much after his passing.

This is the most dispointed I've ever been in BBQ product. Worst food of the whole trip tbh. Not sure how this made it onto a list of star BBQ joints in New Mexico, but it 100% doesn't deserve to be mentioned. I would eat McDonald's over this. I guess it's a bit of a red flag when it comes pre doused in sauce.Being positive, at least I'll definitely have room for a good dinner in a couple hours.

The service is bad. The lady at the front doesn't answer the phone. When I showed up she was not interested in working there. She was on her phone and wasn't friendly at all. Barbeque was good, especially sausage, but it's overpriced for the amount they serve. Will try another BBQ place, won't be back there.
