A wonderful "dive" -- a steak house in a liquor store. The ambiance is fun and authentic, and here is the best part: the steaks are great, better than some 5-star Manhattan restaurants i've been too! The fries are limp disappointments, but the delicious inexpensive lemon drop martinis more than make up for that. Get there EARLY, it's mobbed (we got there at 5:30..still had to wait over an hour).

I expected this vintage/retro steakhouse to be closer to dive bar. And that is exactly what we experienced. Dark, no windows, low ceilings, great bartender and lots of characters. What I didn’t expect was dirty booths, dirty silverware, one clueless waitress and some inedible food. Fluffy baked potatoes and a flavorful chopped steak with onions could not wipe away the terrible rank Zesty Greek dressing on the house salads, burnt Texas toast and the over marinated to the point it was mushy pork kebab. What a waste of our time and money.

Fun very busy little eclectic place it was cool that we got set under the Guy Fieri postersFood was good.We tried the Monte Carlo Burger the chicken strips and the steak fingers ( the steak fingers would have been out of this world with some country gravy) and for the appetizer we had fried mushrooms (kinda a small portion)

The owner, George, was so personable. Spoke to him in the liquor store and he made it a point to find his at dinner and say goodbye. Food was sooooo good so be ready for a little wait. Prime rib sells out fast on Thursday, Friday, Saturday early but my ribeye was awesome. Creamiest baked potatoes.

Local restaurant that has been around since I was a kid, or longer. The atmosphere is awesome and the food is even better. A great place for lunch and an even better place for a fun dinner with friends. For the night of this review, our group of 6 had a blast. The drinks were great, the other customers are usually locals who are having a good time and the food was awesome. We love coming here.

I've seen and read so much about this place I had to try it. 2 of us had the New York strip and got it with fries and a salad. 2 other members of our party had sirloin with shrimp and a child had chicken strips with fries. We had fried mushrooms as appetizers. Not bad for a meal as steaks were cooked to our liking but fried mushrooms were lukewarm. Overall was a good meal with 5 of us eating for $130. Only gripes were the mushrooms and that there was no kid's menu. I will try this place again.

My wife and I love to visit off beat, vintage and distinctive bars and restaurants. Visiting from New Hampshire, several locals recommended the Monte Carlo Steak House and Liquor Store. So we went for dinner, without reservations, in early March 2022. Entrance door is around the back. The place was busy and we shoe horned ourselves up to the bar where Adam, working furiously, took care of us with generous pours. After a reasonable wait, we were seated and had a chance to take in the scene and appreciate the vibe. The Monte Carlo is a genuine throwback to the '80's. Tufted booths, worn rug, noisy, sizzling steaks - here is a place real working people come to enjoy special occasions with friends and family. This is a joint where you have fun, the pleasure of a simple meal, some drinks and lots of laughs. I loved it. With dinner over, we made our way through the restaurant to see what the liquor store was like. After we passed thru a short hallway we emerged behind the cashier's register towards the front of the building. I said to myself, "oops, we're not supposed to be on this side of the counter." And then we met Lou, the owner. Lou is a big gregarious guy who laughed, lead us thru the gate and into the store. Lou gave us a brief story of his Greek family's ownership, showed us family pictures on the wall, and explained that whenever you take a Greek family and mix them with food - you're gonna get a restaurant. We had a wonderful and memorable time - Our Thanks to Lou and all the friendly folks at the Monte Carlo.

If you prefer a quiet atmosphere..this is not it..we went on a Thursday night, it was very busy....very loud...we had been wanting a good steak for a few days...our steaks were ok..taste was good...salad was nothing special...it was a restaurant that had been a staple for a long time, maybe we were just tired...but it really wasn't that special to us...

Steak was nothing like it looked on TV. Thin, tough, lots of gristle. Flavor would make this dish much mo bettah!

Fantastic green chile cheeseburger. Great, late 60s decor (Think dive bar but in a good way), as it hasn't been remodeled since it opened. Lots of pictures of Elvis on the wall, and the furniture added to the retro vibe.
